How has Jalen looked, generally, compared to last season?

And how has the offense looked in terms of sets and formations?

I've heard Saban speak several times and never heard him praise a player quite like he did Ronnie Clark today. It was pretty cool.

I think Jalen looks better as a passer to what degree I'm not sure yet.

Basically the patriot offense, overload with receiver find the open guy meanwhile handing it off once that works.

Ronnie has never complained about anything been moved positions several times and keeps showing up and working. He's a good kid.

Saban absolutely loves those kids like Ronnie and Blake Sims. He used to talk about Blake that way too. Guys who come in highly rated and for whatever reason are tweeners and get moved all around but just keep being positive and working hard. It's a helluva trait to be able to do that. The fact that Saban loves those types of guys so much and does is publically is awesome.

Props on the Bowie reaction gif. Haven't seen that before.

Multiple boosters at the scrimmage verified this. Saban basically confirmed it in his presser without calling Jalen out. But yeah, not speculation. Hope it was nothing, but doesn't sound awesome.

Context matters too. Multiple people are saying one was on the last play of the scrimmage. You aren't going to throw that ball away if nothing is open.

Again, not worried even a little bit.

Last year trying to keep Lame Kiffin reigned in, CNS missed that Dunbar was playing the same 3-4 guys all game every game. Bo Davis may have screwed up... but he made sure there was plenty of rotation and he usually had 2 Starting Lines and a 3rd one that wasnt far from starting.

You mean the guy that won the SEC all three years he was OC, with three different QBs with very different skill sets, won a national title and came one play from a second with an 18 year old true freshman QB?

That guy?

Yeah, lame is right.

I'm sure that Daball will be great, but I would have been totally fine with keeping Lane indefinitely.

Lane did a great job, but his time at Bama was always going to be limited.

When the lights go on, he is fantastic. Unfortunately, the rest of the time he's perpetually stuck at 16. It's just who he is and that is simply incompatible with the way Saban runs his operation. I'm surprised and grateful Lane was able to keep a lid on it as long as he did.

That's what I was trying to say before it was the last play, kind of like there is no FG attempt just do something and we end the scrimmage.

There are a ton of air chair QB's that come to the second scrimmage. I don't know everything or even a lot. I just call it how I see it and ask the people who know.

If I had to do it by percentage, I'd say Jalen was a 50% passer last year, he looks like a 75% now. It's noticeably better. He scans, he stays in the pocket. Lots of little things.

Here's a very good article from Aaron Suttles. It's his thoughts on Alabama after 2 scrimmages. He talks a lot about every position on the field. LINK /

That's a pretty good summary. He didn't mention diggs. Diggs has looked good since Aday. I think he will do well. He is the body type for the position.

I'm not buying the J. Hurts hype yet. He has to be able to throw the 12-25 yard dart. Without that ability we could lose 3 games. He is the key.

He showed that he is capable of this multiple times last season.
