Speaking of which, did you guys see what she tweeted when Bama lost? She has since deleted it, but here it is...

Inning after inning batters were sat down in order. A random hit seemed to often be followed by pop ups, ground outs or double plays to negate it.
If you'll stop and think about it, you'll notice how few hard-hit balls our kids generated. As a team, they're just not physically able to attack the ball. Watch the better offenses and you see that the players are bigger, stronger and more aggressive at the plate. Hell, I doubt that Alabama has a player, outside of Fouts, that could start for Oklahoma!

There's definitely no love lost between her and Bama softball. Rumored that she pissed everyone off. Things came to a head, and Montana and some of the other girls said either KB leaves or we do. I have no evidence as to the truth of that just what I read.

Some of the freshmen will progress I think but we need to recruit some hitters or get them from the portal for next year… we will have two good pitchers to build around

Really? Who was the last freshman that progressed at the plate under Murphy? I’m still waiting to see that. And as for 2 pitchers, Montana has got to be tired of carrying this team on her back every fricking game. As for Lexi, as already mentioned, she can’t stay healthy long enough to contribute. Further indictment of the S&C program? It certainly isn’t a positive. Things need to be shaken up in a big way. Team 27 or whatever number Murphy is on needs to be a new beginning.

If Fouts DOES come back next year, without a change-of-pace pitch, then she made a mistake by not going somewhere that WOULD teacher her.

Hemphill, Braud, McCleney, Brown got better although I don’t like slappers. Turner was good and all time great Kretschman was consistent all four years . We just don’t ever have a bunch at one time . I still think Dowling will improve her power numbers next year . I think we need some bigger players … look at MSU. This board would call them out of shape as they are trotting around the bases

Having said that, I want a new hitting coach

She literally threw multiple change-ups yesterday. The announcers mentioned it every time she threw it. And it was a pretty good one too.

Yep. She didn’t learn it pregame . She just likes to throw what she has confidence in but teams are laying off the rise a little more this year. She has a drop too

Great! (was in church and didn't get to see the game). It doesn't have to be an elite one, but something additional to put in the hitter's mind, however if she could master a really good one that she could throw for strikes, she'd be as close to unhittable as it gets.

If that's true, it looks like she showed them all who was right.

Yep. A lot of successful pitchers across the country are throwing 62-66 and she hits 68-72 so it could only help her

She was one of the top 5 in batting average on the team for the year:
Shipman .350
Prange .333
Goodnight .302
Bloodworth .292
Lord .289

(note: all of the top 5 were first year players on the team)

She was but that production can be replaced . I imagine they are having their individual end of year meetings with Murphy/ staff so there may be more

Bigger players are one thing, the BIGGER players we trot out are MUCH BIGGER players. Murphy has to go. Just like any other CEO in charge of a business, which Bama softball is, a business. Stagnation and complacency will and should get your arse replaced. Replace the whole staff. Players leave this program and blossom under real coaching.
