On March 27, 2019, Nathanael Justin Oats became the 21st head basketball coach at The University of Alabama, and within two seasons his 2020-21 team revived the dwindling spirits of a fan base numbed by mediocrity. @nate_oats, @CoachBHodgson, @AntoinePettway and @GSCoach_Charlie instilled confidence and swagger in a program teetering on irrelevance. For the first time in 34 years, Alabama swept the SEC regular-season and tournament titles en route to a 26-7 record, Sweet Sixteen run and No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. In a pandemic crowd-restricted Bridgestone Arena, I cried for the second time in my life for Alabama basketball, only this time I shed tears of joy because my daughter and I witnessed the Tide end a 30-year SEC Tournament drought. So the 21st head coach and his 2020-21 team are here to remind you the 2023-24 basketball season tips off in 21 days.

Billy Richmond is still scheduled to OV here this weekend (along with Derrion Reid). Maybe we can up the ante and get Richmond on board after missing on Jase. They aren't the same position, but a spot is a spot and Billy looks like one of the elite talent types that you take and figure out the rest later.

I think we all need to prepare ourselves ladies and gentlemen.

Kris Parker might be the real deal.

He's going to be tough to.

Nate Oats and company did a great job with this recruiting class. We have a lot of guys who can do a lot of different things. Mo, Davin, Sam, Kris, and Jarin all are skilled. Hopefully, these guys can step up when their number is called this season.

The 1929-30 Crimson Tide completed the only undefeated basketball season in school history with a perfect 20-0 record which included a Southern Conference Tournament championship. Coached by Hank Crisp and led by James “Lindy” Hood, a 6-foot-5 center from Collinsville, the Tide rolled through the Southern Conference Tournament in Atlanta with victories over Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee and Duke. Hood came to Tuscaloosa for football and played on the 1931 Rose Bowl team, but also became Alabama’s first All-American in basketball. Hood would remain the Tide’s only All-American for 25 years. So in memory of its perfect 20-0 season, the 1929-30 Crimson Tide team is here to remind you the 2023-24 basketball season tips off in 20 days.

Great history Alabama_Fan! When we look way back, we tend to stick on the Rocket 8, but 20-0 is something to remember.
