There are plenty of things to talk about that arent negative, like how we just had the best season we have had in almost 20 years, have arguably the best class we have ever had coming in, how we are projected to be in the top 5.

Last season was great. I like our recruits. Next season will be fun. It is nice to not have to convince myself that the 3* recruit we "stole" from MTSU and Southern Illinois is actually going to be a really good player.

That's literally all there is to discuss about those topics unless you're comfortable with the idea of offering objective evaluations of the newcomers that may include negative impressions about some aspects of their games.

This place is just so doom and gloom since the season ended and when someone says something about it its “frick you we can speculate”.

You have a really odd definition of doom and gloom.

quote:

Bama bball fans have had a reason to complain for a long time, but the ones still doing it constantly now I have to think are the type of people that just want to be miserable.

Again, you have an odd definition of what complaining is. I don't think I have seen a single person complain about the state of the basketball program. Some of us are just uncomfortable with the Wilson situation.

You are coming across as BamaStepL's passive aggressive cousin.

Granted he's in the process of losing it for no apparent reason, but I'm surprised you were able to find an image of Junior attempting to dribble without posting up 37 feet from the basket.

"I don't really think it's doom and gloom just more of a place of not really knowing what is going on and quite frankly not really knowing what the rules over everything are. Either way, it's probably time to move past all the transfer portal/roster movement stuff. I think we've got our 2021-2022 roster pretty close to set at this point (fingers crossed).

And it's damned good"

No doom and gloom here. I'm excited to finally have positive issues to deal with. Like finding minutes for all these guys. Wish we could start practices today.

He had De'Aaron Fox RIGHT where he wanted him.

Pretty wild that we have gone from having our version of Steven Pearl matched up against a lottery pick to a roster with 3 former McDonald's All Americans in like 4 years.

See, there's some positivity.

The roster turnover has been almost unbelievable. Moving past the transfer and signee talk, this is definitely the most talented Alabama roster I’ve seen in my lifetime. There’s also a lot of new faces, so I hope a full offseason can prevent the December crash.

It will also be interesting to see how the staff and players react to a little bit of pressure. Top 10, maybe Top 5 preseason ranking. Likely expected to repeat as conference champs. Disappointment if they don’t exceed last year’s performance in the tournament. It’s going to be a hell of a coaching situation for Oats, but it should be a fun ride.

With Wilson and reporters now mentioning the potential of a recommit to us, part of me wonders if we're working on the academic senior loophole with Keon that's been mentioned. That or maybe we're holding out hope the scholarship limit gets increased.

I still don't like it, but I will say that at least we let him know now instead of down the road when other top schools still have openings.

I would absolutely love to have this kid on board because his potential is through the roof.

There is also the possibility that there are guys currently on the roster who are on the fence about going pro or hitting the portal and the staff told him it'd be in his best interests to be released from his LOI now and give himself options in case they all decide to stay at Alabama.

That said, I badly want a world where we have 15 scholarship players next year by virtue of a loophole in the rules, because my God the Tiger Rant would turn into a North Korean salt mine.

I thought about this, but I didn't want to be the one to speak it into existence. Although, I would take Wilson over at least 3 of our returnees.

As a side thought: How impressive would it be if we didn't have a single transfer with as loaded as this roster is and in a year where all transfers are immediately eligible. That would be almost as impressive as our run through SEC Play this year...

Technically, all scholarships are only for 1 year at a time. Kids have never had a guarantee. Why do I know that? Because years ago, several recruits said in interviews that Saban was the only coach who told them that.

The NCAA ruled in 2015 that schools cannot refuse to renew an athletic scholarship based on inadequate athletic ability or performance. But it can be done for rules violations or inadequate academic performance.

Interesting. I missed that ruling. That's good, if you ask me. So are scholarships now for a minimum length of 4 years?

Hard to say, some teams still have pieces to add, Auburn needs a PG bad, they may get TyTy Washington, if so I would move them up.

Right now I think it’s Bama, Arkansas then everyone else, both might be top 5 teams.

Florida has added some good pieces and I expect Kentucky to bounce back and be really good again.

Its really not, he is 21 and averages 9 points a game in JUCO. Some of you have him way overrated. Yes he can jump out of the gym but he needs a lot of work on everything else.

Him shooting 56% on free throws makes me really question his ceiling as a shooter.
