Let's all go back to 3/1/23 at the 10 minute mark down 17 to the Aubs before we cut the nets.

Apparently it’s GPA related

I think it is needed a spot for a better player so moved Minifield to redshirt and paid him with booster/ NIL money. Minifield can’t transfer again without a waver, so Musselman has him under his thumb.

Not sure what you're basing that on, because Trilly says it's academics.

Slater is saying Sherrell is ours and apparently giving the scorpion emoji to Oats like he gave the shark emoji to Hodgson.

I’m guessing Sherrill will join the team in December if no Guard jumps in the portal to claim the 13th spot

I would bet he plays his SR season of high school ball and doesnt enroll here early. He’s for sure a Bama lock though.

Trilly is likely right, and I was just speculating, but I am pretty cynical about Arkansas hoops recruiting. Question: How can Minifield not be qualified academically and still be enrolled in school as a walk on?

Progress towards graduation is required by the NCAA for eligibility. If he failed a bunch of classes in the spring at Washington he likely wouldn't be be eligible to play until next spring, but Arkansas could still accept him as a student because that's entirely within the purview of the school.

I think Nate Oats has found another CJ Massinburg...if you don't know him just go back to Coach Oats Buffalo days.

Latrell Wrightsell's game is very similar to his and I think Nate Oats knows this.

I'm mostly interested in seeing how much he can work as a ball handler. I've seen some clips where he makes since nice passes. But watching random highlights isn't the same as watching some game film.

NEW: Billy Richmond tells KSR three schools are pushing for him the hardest: Kentucky, Alabama and Memphis

And he’s inching closer toward a final decision.
quote:

The four-star wing told On3’s Joe Tipton he still has visits he’d like to take, four officials to Kentucky, Louisville, Alabama, and Kansas.

Who is prioritizing him the most at this point, though, making it clear he’s needed at their respective programs?

“Kentucky, Memphis and Alabama,” he told KSR. “They are (pushing for me the hardest).”

What does he like about those three programs in particular?

Alabama: “I like how Alabama plays. A lot of big guards come from there like Brandon Miller. The game style is there for me, and it’s a great coaching staff.”

Kentucky: “You can’t go wrong with Kentucky. Big Blue is one of the best schools in basketball history, and there’s a great coaching staff there.

Memphis: “It’s my hometown and I have a great relationship with the coaches over there and everything.”

Something to keep in mind: Richmond’s father, Billy Richmond Jr., played for John Calipari at Memphis from 2002-04. 20 years later, the Kentucky head coach is pushing to land his son’s commitment with the Wildcats.

A bit OT but I came across this old pic of a young freshman driving to the basket in the early 60's ... sure had some pretty big paws

That actually sounds pretty positive for us unless NIL is a major factor here. Unfortunately it really shows how shitty our basketball recruiting coverage is that this kid is a top 50 player who is apparently a priority for our staff and this is literally the first thing I've read about it. And it's from a Kentucky website.

Looks like he has that hook and seal out move down pretty good there...
