Jarin Stevenson has Bama, UNC, and UVA in his top 3. Will announce this weekend. Mentioned “Coach Preston” in his interview this morning

Logically speaking even if he prefers UNC he should come here for 1 year, get some NIL, and if he still wants to play at UNC transfer there for 2024/2025 which is when they want him anyways

When is his birthday? If he turns 18 in 2023 he can declare for next summer's draft.

Jarin Stevenson, the No. 22 overall prospect in the 2024 class, has cut his list down to a final three, he tells 247Sports.

The 6-foot-10, 200-pound power forward out of Pittsboro (N.C.) Seaforth held offers from Alabama, Georgetown, Missouri, NC State, North Carolina, Virginia, Wake Forest and others and is now down to just Alabama, North Carolina and Virginia.

Alabama: "I like Alabama's play style. They have an NBA offense and they also have good defense, too. Coach [Nate] Oats is pretty cool…They're great people."

North Carolina: "I like how close by it is. It's a very prestigious school and they have had a lot of great players come out of there. Coach Hubert Davis is a great guy and has a great community over there and the players are cool. I got to hang out with them. It's nice being close to home. If anything goes wrong I can get help from my parents and family."

"I am hoping by this weekend that I can make that decision," he said as to when he plans to commit.

However, if he does plan to commit by this weekend, he doesn't envision making his reclassification decision until further into the summer.

"No, not yet," he answered as to whether he will have a decision made to reclassify when he commits. "I am not 100-percent sure on that either."

If he's that old for his class he should reclassify. If it works out and he has a strong freshman year he's probably in the NBA a year early. If it doesn't he can just portal out.

College basketball news: Kentucky’s Aaron Bradshaw – a projected top pick in 2024 NBA draft – has suffered a fracture in his foot and could miss start of the 2023-24 season, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. The program is optimistic on full recovery for the 7-foot freshman.

If he picks Alabama I think it’s 100% that he’s going to reclassify. If he picks UNC they said theyd welcome him in 2023 but I’d bet he stays in 2024.

He might do the same thing as Shaedon Sharpe and never actually play for UK

The popular take on Jarin Stevenson in recruiting circles is his choice will be Alabama if he reclasses to 2023. It will be North Carolina or Virginia if he stays 2024. @HeelIllustrated

Only 2 comments. But they're both UNC fans and both a little salty.

Wrapping up recruiting for this cycle with Estrada, Wrightsell, Nelson, and Stevenson would be about as strong of a close as we could ask for.
