If Nelson leaves T-town without committing and goes on his visit to Arkansas I'm gonna feel really bad about landing him. Twitter smoke is that Mandy Hunt is about to drop a bag on him.

Oats is about to drop his bag on Musselman.

I think we are gonna offer a bigger bag for Nelson than we normally would because our season depends on it
Problem is Arkansas has no budget and will spend whatever it takes.

They can drop a Santa’s bag on him but can they give him enough minutes? That is probably his biggest priority.

I’m hoping we can land both Kaluma and Nelson. I think that gives us another chance at having the deepest roster in the sec. I’d like to see us have a taller two guard this year.

Truly had this to say last night:

Thinking about the different scenarios for Arthur Kaluma, Grant Nelson and Olivier Nkamhoua:
Not exactly sure what it means other than we are hoping Olivier goes to Baylor.

Think it’s a domino effect. Just don’t know they will fall. I think we get Kaluma or Nelson but not both.

Nkamhoua to Baylor = Nelson to Alabama and Kaluma to Texas Tech/K State. Nkamhoua to WVU = Nelson to Baylor and Kaluma to Alabama.
That's the only way I could see them all being connected since there is no school involved with all 3 from what I can tell.
I honestly don't know which I would prefer if we could only have one of Nelson and Kaluma. I'm leaning Nelson just because our front court depth is currently 0, but Kaluma has 2 years of consistent production in the Big East and you never know how these mid-major guys will translate.

Kaluma is thick enough he could play the 5 IMO. Won’t have any length but he would kinda give us a Reese type 5.
I would gladly take either but if we could only have 1 I want Kaluma. He has done it in a major conference

Some chatter that Nelson didn’t end up visiting Baylor

Kaluma is 6'7" dude. Reese was closer to 6'9-10". If we go into the season with a 6'7" backup 5 we're going to be abused by anyone with size.

I thought Kaluma was 6’8/6’9

T Watts just posted that Nelson did NOT make the trip to Baylor. Interesting.

Very interesting. It’s us or Arkansas then, eh?

This dude is so intriguing. As a sophomore he was well on his way to being a top 30 recruit, had a bad junior year that he has kind of insinuated was due to a lot of off court personal matters, and had a strong bounce back senior season after the junior year tanked his recruitment. Could end up being a steal like Clowney was.

I’m really curious to see what all of the freshman and Cosby can do. I think Walters is gonna be really good. Idk about the other 3.
