My wife would make sure they never found my body if I turned down half a million dollars to take 50k from someone I liked slightly more than the guy offering the half million. That's paying off our cars vs. paying off our mortgage and putting our kids through college.

Nick Smith is the answer to that question- but I understand it was more like $750K than $500K. Until the NCAA, with some federal support against law suits, institutes salary caps and punishes schools for pay for play up front, rather than simple NIL opportunities as it was intended, it’s open season for cheating out there.

Agree. Problem for Byrne is not 70 yr olds like me who have attended for years. It is the guy who wants to take some family to the game. I’m about as loyal as you can get about attending games, but I’m likely headed to Stub Hub too.
