I want Tylor Perry as well because he can flat out of play basketball.
I'd imagine this is more of an "either or" situation. I'd certainly welcome him as well though.

New member with a smidgen of info concerning Miller and his NIL...the company on the below AL.com chart is where both of his cars come from, a new scat pack challenger when he signed, a new hellcat charger to replace the shot up challenger...know the lawyer that provided both thru this dealership, fatcat on the football side

FWIW, same account is saying Mack and Estrada are done. Crediting JQ as the recruiter.
Some random on twitter. He doesn’t have any credibility so take it FWIW

Walton, Estrada, and Mack would be a solid portal class that addresses a lot of what we lost.

Estrada is pretty much a unanimous top 10 player in the portal. Getting him would be huge.

I really like the RaeQuan Battle kid. Uber athletic, can shoot, and phenomenal at the rim for a wing. I'd also think with his athletic traits that he'd have to be at the very least a plus defender as well. Could be a great Nimari replacement.

I agree Raequan would give us that guard who can finish around the rim.

We’re in on a lot of good guards, I’m surprised we aren’t in on many good Power Forwards, seems we haven't even contacted many.
I suppose Mack could play PF us but he played center at Wofford.

Wofford grad transfer B.J. Mack took his official visit to Alabama this weekend, and the Crimson Tide only elevated its chances at landing the 6-foot-8, 261-pound power forward. “Bama has set the bar high, I ain’t gonna lie,” Mack told BamaOnLine. This ahead of an official to Iowa today through Tuesday, then trips to South Carolina and Arkansas over the course of the next two weekends.

“Overall it went great,” Mack continued. “Me and my family really enjoyed it. Just talking with Coach (Nate) Oats and the coaching staff, they have a pretty good plan in place for the season for the guys that are coming back and some of the guys that are coming into the program. They have a good program and a good thing looking forward. “He envisions me being able to use my leadership skills that I’ve built at Wofford coming in as a grad transfer. And being able to showcase my shooting ability at the highest level. Be able to help them get over the hump of making it from the Sweet 16 to the Elite Eight and having a chance at winning it all.” Mack also liked spending time with the new UA assistants Oats is bringing on to the staff. “The new assistants there are super smart and super detailed,” he said. “They know a lot about the game. I was just sitting there picking their minds about where they were coming from and how they see how they can help my game and others on the team. They have one coach that just came from the Pelicans and he knows a lot about the game. Just picking his mind about different players that he’s coached against and everything. It’s a great group of guys they have.” Nick Pringle, who once played at Wofford with Mack, hosted the grad transfer this weekend. The two are very close, Mack says. Overall the first impression of Tuscaloosa did not disappoint. “Just seeing how tight-knit the community is,” Mack said of what he liked best. “The community loves Bama sports. We would be going out places and all the fans would be screaming ‘Roll Tide’ no matter where we were at. It was a very tight-knit community and I really enjoyed that.”

I think we land Mack. He and Pringle will be a force down low.

Chuck is returning as well.
Chuck, Sears, JQ, Griffen and Pringle coming back.
Walton, Parker, Walters, Cosby and Mouhamed coming in.
Add Mack and Estrada...good to go. BJ could def play the 4. Estrada is a 6’4 guard that can score.

I'd hope the plan is to play him at the 4 mostly. Him at the five for long stretches would be very worrisome from a rim protection and rebounding standpoint.

I think we will use him similar to how we used Rojas…except he is a lot better than Rojas

As mistaken pointed out a while ago, Mack is pretty much a clone of Nick Perkins who was the main center that Oats used at Buffalo. Both are 6’8 250 and their strengths are posting up and shooting threes.
Here's some nick Perkins at buffalo highlights

Using per-40 numbers for both, Perkins averaged more than double the blocks and over 4 more rebounds.
Again, I like Mack, but with Bediako and Pringle on board, playing him significant minutes at the 5 is questionable at best.

It depends on what year you look at but both were pretty similar as far as rim protectors as in neither was good at it. Perkins is a better rebounder I'll give you that.

Right, but he played the 5 his whole career so far and is 250 lbs so moving to the 4 this late in his career as a grad transfer would be an adjustment.
He can shoot well enough to do it for sure.
Maybe he thinks he needs to move to the 4 to be an NBA prospect.

I'm not sure there'd be any mutual interest with Mack, much less the level of mutual interest suggested in the article that was posted, if our intention was for him to just be a small ball 5 whose minutes are largely dictated by matchups. He would likely see some minutes in that role, but I think it's a lot more likely that they primarily want him to be a stretch 4 who is going to play on the perimeter or in the paint based on matchups.
