Instead we had the one white guy who sucked and couldn’t consistently shoot (Riley Norris) for 5 years

I bet he's no Sam Haginas.

That's Thanksgiving night. So actually that isn't as bad as a regular weeknight.

Trying to stay up that late after eating about 10 plates of food throughout the day…gonna be physically demanding but I’ll be up to the challenge.

36?? My goodness. That would be a big disappointment. Even the jaded Alabama basketball fan in me that can occasionally get cynical doesn't see us doing that poorly. Though that is still likely a tournament team.

That’s gonna be fun tho. Get to kick back after a long day of doing nothing but eating and watching sports and end it with Alabama avoiding the upset against Michigan St.

Wooten 150: Four-star wing Kaden Cooper is close to making his decision
One of the best athletes in the national senior class, Kaden Cooper is gearing towards the final stages of his recruitment. A 6-foot-5 bouncy wing out of Ada (Okla.) Cooper is down to ten schools in Alabama, Georgia Tech, Gonzaga, Kansas, Kansas State, LSU, Memphis, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Texas. He took his last official visit to Tuscaloosa last month and was impressed with the program's style of play.
"The Alabama visit was good," Cooper said. "Nate Oats is a smart coach. He runs a lot of pro actions in his offense. They have a great campus and I love the team because they play together. A big thing for me is how they move the ball. They do not necessarily have one player who is ball dominant. But overall, they treated me well and it was a great visit."
In addition to Alabama, Cooper has also taken official visits to Kansas, LSU, and Oklahoma. He recapped each visit and broke down his thoughts on each program with 247Sports:
Kansas: "The visit was good. They play well in transition. Bill Self is from Oklahoma so we related to a lot of things. The culture is different. Their fans support a lot of the team and go all out for their team. I feel that is big."
LSU: "Mainly Cody Toppert and Matt McMahon recruit me from there. The visit was great. They play different than I thought. They play very fast. I love the coaching staff because they were easy to bond with. I loved the players too."
Oklahoma: "I took a visit in the beginning of the summer. I met all the guys and love the team. It was great. I love how they run their offense. It is not necessarily as fast but they play together and it is very pro-like. I could see myself being a guy at their school. They are big on me staying home and leaving a legacy. They want me to show what I am all about. It is big for them that I am from the state. If I was to go there, it would be big for them."
Cooper does not plan on taking any more visits this fall and says his commitment will take place this month. He stressed how his decision will be based of his gut-feeling.
"I am going with what honestly just feels best," Cooper said. "I am looking for what will be best for me. Everybody has opinions about where I should go but I am looking for whatever I think is right. I have been praying on it and talking with my family so I want to go with whatever feels right to me."
Rated a four-star prospect, Cooper is ranked No. 57 overall in the 247Sports Top 150.

Listening to Oats talk tonight. If you got one question to ask, what would you want to know?

Outside of defense, what’s the main area he wants to see improvement from coming from last season into this one?

Is Brandon Miller aware of David Diaz-Herrero, and how does he feel about it?

Wootten Top 150 Camp: The Cassidy Awards
The 2022 Wootten Top 150 Camp took place south of Dallas over the weekend and, as always, attracted some of the top prospects in the country. Rivals recruiting director Rob Cassidy was also on hand in the Lone Star State and dishes out some awards to the prospects that caught his eye at the event.
quote:
FLOOR SPACER: SAM WALTERS
WHAT HE DID: Walters’ production is undeniable. At Wootten 150, he once again showed off the ability to score from all areas of the floor. The 6-foot-8 lefty is a floor spacer and shot it with confidence from the outside while getting up and down well for a prospect of his size. He’ll need to continue to add muscle to reach his ceiling, both defensively and as a scorer in the paint, but his upside remains off the charts.
RECRUITMENT: Walters is committed to Alabama.
quote:
EVOLVING: KADEN COOPER
WHAT HE DID: One of the better defenders in the 2023 class, Cooper was one of few prospects giving max effort on that end of the floor in what was a mostly relaxed setting. He also showed off his trademark athleticism with a few pretty dunks. Still, the most encouraging thing about his weekend was the fact that he looks more confident from three-point range than he was at this time last year. Once known as a raw athlete with upside, Cooper has clearly worked to become a better shooter and more well-rounded player. It’s starting to show as his skill is catching up with his elite athleticism.
RECRUITMENT: Kansas, Gonzaga and Alabama seem most likely to land Cooper, who recently wrapped up an official to Tuscaloosa.

Four-star shooting guard Elijah Moore updates his recruitment
Four star guard Elijah Moore has had a host of schools come to his open gyms this fall before the start of his junior year.
The 6-foot-3, 170-pound shooting guard out of the Bronx (NY.) Cardinal Hayes is starting to see his recruitment expand and is looking to set up visits.
“The recruitment process is going well,” he said. “I’m trying to keep my head down, stay focus and get new schools by the day. So far Oklahoma State, Alabama, Cal Berkeley are some of the new schools to get involved and Miami, Oregon, and Alabama has come to my open gyms. Oklahoma and Villanova will be here this week.”
“I’m trying to figure out which visits I’m going to take and break down to my top five and see the coaches and the people I want to be around before I take any officials. I want to see Villanova, Oklahoma, Alabama and I’m definitely going to go to Syracuse and UConn.”
Moore is one of the top shooters in the class and talked some schools recruiting him.
Syracuse: “Our relationship is definitely picking up. I talk to coach Griffin almost everyday, along with coach Boeheim, and coach Autry. It’s great talking to those guys and listening to the wisdom that they got to tell me. I appreciate it a lot and them reaching out as much as they do has an affect as me as a person.”
“At the Syracuse Elite camp I wanted to prove I am what I think I am and even more. Some people try to categorize me as a shooter so I try to go and show that I’m more then that. Coach Boeheim never saw me play at that point and then after he said he wants to get me there.”
Villanova: “We are starting to build a relationship now. Coach Neptune will be here this week to see me play, workout, and talk to me.”
Alabama: “That relationship is going really well. Im trying to figure out when I’m going to take an offical see a game and all the people.”
Coming into Moore’s junior season he looks to show people his expanded skillset.
“I want to show people that I’m more then they think I am,” he said. “Some people underrate me and put me in a different category so I want to be able to show people that I’m on that level and I can play. Im a great facilitator, I can play above the rim, I’m a great leader and teammate.”
