Just saw on TD that Copeland is transferring from wbb to LSU. She was one of our best players, what’s up? Grad transfer.

Rojas and Gurley are both 2020-21 academic seniors. I'm not 100% certain of it yet, but it appears they won't count toward the 2021-22 total (13) limit. If they don't count, then zero transfers out are needed to make room for Burnett and Gurley. We'll have 15 on scholarship, but only 13 will be counters.
I was under the impression that the non-counters are only if they stay at the current school.
If they transfer, they’re still eligible, but it will count against the limits.
Dunno, could be wrong.

Another stat to really like about Burnett, even in a terrible shooting season - he gets to the line.
#19 out of 777 Hi-Majors players in Free Throw Rate (how often you get to the line). And when he did get there he went 32/36 for the year (89%).
Great defender, great driver, great free throw shooter. Gotta get better handling the ball and converting his FT stroke to the 3PT line.

Who is the Gurley guy? Is he any good?

He re-tweeted Burnett's commitment tweet and said he can't wait to get to work playing with him like 5 minutes before that. Unless Oats texted him "sorry, you're out" in that time I think you're reading too much into it

Alabama football finally figured out how to kick field goals so of course the sports gods have now given us PTSD over free throws. Perfectly balanced I guess.

I've tried but can't find a copy of the actual NCAA rule granting the extra year of eligibility. But I've read several thorough articles that all said the rule states that "2020-21 senior student-athletes" won't count toward 2021-22 total scholarship limits. I've seen no mention in any of those articles that seniors who've redshirted or who transfer are excluded from that provision.
ETA: I dug around and found this article quoting an NCAA spokesperson indicating that 2020-21 seniors who've redshirted or who transfer will count toward the 2021-22 total (13) limit:
NCAA grants all basketball players extra year of eligibility
quote:
An NCAA spokesperson told the Union-Tribune on Wednesday night that “the additional eligibility is only at the current school” but clarified that Thursday morning.
“The eligibility is available at another school,” the spokesperson said in a subsequent email, “but the scholarship will count against team limits. If a student-athlete stays at their current school but has exhausted eligibility, their aid doesn’t count against team limits.”
In other words, if you have 13 basketball players on scholarship and three seniors stay for their extra year, you still get three additional scholarships for 2021-22. If a senior transfers to another school for that extra season, he or she counts against the allotted scholarship limit (which is 13 for men’s basketball).
So, it appears that both Rojas and Gurley will be counters toward 2021-22 limits. That means Rojas will probably transfer out to make room for Burnett and someone else would need to depart to open up another counter spot for Gurley.

Yeah, he is. Basically a 2/3, which plays on the perimeter. He's Keon Dangerfield.

Good to know. Can't imagine where you'd have found that info.

Gonna miss Herb. I hope to see him on a NBA roster next season. He gave everything he had when he was in the court.
