Let’s say we miss on Bridges, who’s next guy we would focus on?
If we miss on Bridges, I'll be a little panicky. I'm just not very confident with many others. We desperately need a glue guy and a proven deep threat.
We really need two contributors with these last two spots. I'm starting to feel like we should have casted a wider net.

It really is strange that we haven’t appeared to be linked to too many guys. I gotta believe we are recruiting a lot more than what’s been reported…at least I hope so.

It's possible that (a) we have and haven't gotten bites due to the class coming in or (b) we have and it's just not being widely discussed.
We'll fight out soon enough. Bridges is big because he's kind of a unicorn in in terms of fitting what we need so much. There isn't really another Bridges out there that seems to be anywhere on our radar. Nolley is probably the closest.
I think there are a bunch of 6-2 outside shooters out there we can pivot too once we figure out the Bridges stuff.

Burnett and Sears for go to three guy? Miller? Griffin?

I think you definitely want more than just Sears. Burnett supposedly shot it well all practice, but the last time he played games he was horrific. Miller isn't going to be a prolific 3P shooter (adequate, but not 35%+) and I'm not sure we want to rely on Griffin as a true freshman.
We badly need at least 1 more guy who is a pure shooter. There are a bunch out there so I'm sure we'll grab one, but Bridges is nice because he's both a solid 3PT shooter and a long defender. There are a bunch of 6-2 3PT shooters, not a lot of 6-7 ones who rebound, make 3s and defend.

Do folks ever call them out when they write a bunch of words to say absolutely nothing? I mean that’s a long winded version of what Robot said earlier

That's exactly what my first thought was
The worst are the "Where does Bridges stand after Visit?" as if there is going to be a big scoop

Noah Friedel is who I would have to take a risk on but there's no need to panic. We still got plenty of time too get someone who fits in case we don't get Jalen Bridges.

Not the question, paid sites posting it as if the article they are posting had the answer to that question and then saying "he had fun but didn't say anything".

That's why I can never justify paying for a subscription to those sites. Anything that is actually interesting will end up floating around within an hour or two, and the other 97% of their content is just "Alabama's staff has been in constant contact with [recruit] and feels like it is in a good position after his visit" type crap that anyone with two brain cells to rub together could come up with without having any kind of inside information.

The Arch Manning ones have been the pinnacle of this stuff.

Lunardi has us as a 5 seed in his first 2023 Bracketology.

Add me to that list. Even with Bridges we're looking at having very little P-6 playing experience on the roster next year. Without him we will have Miles (2), Burnett (1), Gurley (1), and Bediako (1). And Miles played walk-on minutes as a freshman so saying he has two years of experience is a stretch. Like I said the other day, you can't play your entire roster, and portal guys aren't transferring just to sit on the bench unless it's a blowout or there's some major foul trouble.
I think going forward, if we are able to continue attracting top tier recruits, the appropriate high school/JuCo class size is like 3 guys. Less than that and you're going to end up with too much turnover. More than that and you're going to end up relying too much on unproven freshmen.

To be fair that was off of 23 attempts in his first 12 games of his collegiate career. However, I do agree that we desperately need an established 3pt threat from the portal.

Yea I except Burnett to be a solid outside shooter. His FT numbers alone suggest it.

There still will be guys who back out of the draft and they will want to transfer so I don't think there's reason for panic just yet.
