Kenneth Lofton Jr. is training in Phoenix, working on his body and preparing for the NBA Draft, but also has a ton of suitors in case he decides to return to college.

Junior averaged 16.5 ppg, 10.5 rpg and 2.8 apg last season as a sophomore at Louisiana Tech.

Lofton’s father told me that these are some of the schools that have reached out:

Houston, Texas, Kentucky, Auburn, Gonzaga, LSU, Memphis, Texas A&M, USC, Tulsa, Kansas State, Ole Miss, UCSB.

Also hasn’t ruled out a return to Louisiana Tech.

If we have to play that dude at Auburn I’ll be pissed. He is great I just don’t see him fitting what we do.

Somebody posted this on our Rivals message board and

This is going to sound racist to some of our more liberal lightheaded members but I would like to see a little yeng and yang in our lineup. I would love for us to get a couple of white guys who are good enough to play a lot and contribute more than just being on our practice squad. Three mid major white guys who impressed me this season were Baylor Scheierman/ SD State, Grant Nelson and Sam Griesel/ ND State. I doubt if any of those guys are hitting the portal but it seems like the only white guys we get are the ones who in a blowout get ridiculously cheered for chunking up a 40 foot 3 at the buzzer. Good players are good players regardless of color…I know that and I love all of our players of all color. But in basketball we have had a really dry run of white guys since some of our most successful Wimp Sanderson teams…maybe that’ll change.

Holy frick

It's not racist, just something that can be observed. Let's everyone see things for what they actually are. Would it seem odd if Alabama never recruited or played black players? Would it be concerning or at minimum just odd that the few black players you had on the team were only practice guys? Would it add to the oddness if the all white team at Alabama was bested by most of the teams that put on the court a more diverse team that included black players as well? Flip it and that's what reality is for our team. And has been. We flat out need better players and I don't care what that means about their color. I do know that white players often lack some athletic abilities that are hard to make up for on the basketball court. However, the ones that can play can really play and they're often GREAT shooters, which in case ya'll haven't noticed, we need.

VMI transfer Jake Stephens has committed to Chattanooga, he tells ESPN. Absolutely huge in-conference pickup for Dan Earl, who coached him at VMI. First-team All-SoCon, 6-foot-11 center averaged 19.6, 9.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and shot 49% from 3.

He wanted to win more than anyone else outside of Q off this past team.

I would say Keon was at the top of the list on the guys that wanted to win. Q looked that way MOST of the time but also had games where he looked like he didn't give a frick either way.

Quinerly had a bit of a Tony Mitchell vibe to him this season. When he decided to focus and play hard he'd be a force, but when he didn't we were essentially playing 4 on 5 whenever he was on the floor. There was no real explanation for why he'd be focused one night and completely lackadaisical the next though. There was certainly no pattern that I could see. At least with Tony you knew what to expect for the next 35 minutes based on how the first 5 went.
