Yeah doubt we even reach out. UGA kid would be awesome tho, people say he can be a black hole on offense but it’s hard not to be when your teammates suck. Would love him here with pieces around him

Yea Oquendo as the 6th man energy guy sounds like something I could absolutely get on board with.

Looks like he struggled in the non conference but really turned it on in SEC play and was only a freshman so he should improve
Oquendo is a JuCo transfer. Went to the same school Ellis did. He only used one year of eligibility there though I think.

Loftin is awesome. Led team USA in scoring over Chet Homgren, Jabari Smith and others. Probably not the best fit for us though tbh. Don't be surprised if he ends up in Texas or a true blue blood.

Yeah, that would be a solid portal addition imo.

NY2LA Swish N' Dish: Four-star forward Curtis Williams talks schools involved
Top-fifty junior Curtis Williams put on a perimeter shooting clinic during bracket play at NY2LA's Swish and Dish kickoff event. His perimeter jumper is a part of his game where he shows great confidence however, the coaches recruiting him admire his versatilty, which is the biggest asset of his game he wants to continue to display this month.
"I want to show that I am a versatile player who can defend four positions on the floor," Williams said. "I can shoot the blood out the ball but my ball handling needs to get better. It is getting stronger by the day though."
Diving into his recruitment, Williams says Alabama, Florida State, Houston, and Providence are the main schools pursuing him the hardest. He took time to break down each program with 247Sports:
Alabama: "Nate Oats and his whole coaching staff recruits me from there. What stands out is how hard they recruit me. They put a lot of effort into getting to know me and my family."
Florida State: "Leonard Hamilton recruits me from there and I like him a lot. His pitch to me is how he likes my versatility. He knows I can score but I do not need to score to impact a game."
Houston: "I talk to Kelvin Sampson over the phone. They are a great defensive team. They like to play defense and I like that about their program. Sampson says he really does not need scorers because they are a top-tier school, so he likes my versatility as well. I always keep them in mind because they always win and they made it to the Elite Eight this year."
Providence: "Ed Cooley is a cultured coach. That is something that my mom and I look at because it does make a difference. They won the Big East and that was a big deal. They made a far run in the tournament, so that stood out."
Williams says when the opportunity presents itself, he would like to visit each school involved in his recruitment. He says he plans on making a list cut based off the official visits he goes on this summer.
"When taking my visits I will be looking for a great program," Williams said. "How the players connect with the coaches and vice-versa will say a lot in my decision."
Rated a four-star prospect by 247Sports, Williams is ranked the No. 48 overall prospect in the top 150 player rankings.

Crazy to me that we have all these mid-major guys that have season long highlight videos, but a guy that averaged 15 PPG at a high-major can't get a highlight video. Shows you the state of the UGA program.
He obviously can score well, is uber athletic and looks like he should be a good defender. Sign me up.

There is really nothing out there but a few dunks. There’s more JUCO highlights than Georgia for Oquendo.
Also I’ve completely blocked out the memory of our game vs Georgia, and they were largely on my “do not watch” list so I’ve got nothing.
Statistical profile is a bit of a mixed bag, but at least he can finish around the rim. Would be nice if he could shoot a bit from 3 though.

I don’t remember any of it. I was so irrationally mad I wasn’t really focused while watching it.

I remember us completely collapsing after Keon got hurt. To be fair, we weren’t very good before that.
If you toggle Oquendo’s stats to be against SEC teams only, it looks like less of a mixed bag.
18.3 ppg on 46/31/75 shooting. 4.7 rebounds, 1.2 steals.

Damn. I guess if Duke falls off, it definitely won’t be because of recruiting.

ETA: will they actually win more now that K is gone? Serious.

Nick Pringle Exclusive Interview
Nick Pringle is one of 5 signees from Alabama’s 3rd ranked recruiting class for 2022, per 247 Sports. Pringle is a redshirt freshman from Dodge City Community College in Dodge City, Kansas. He began his career at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina before transferring to Dodge City this past season. Pringle was ranked as the 3rd best Junior College recruit in the nation, per 247 Sports, and the No.1 player at his position. He is a 6’10” 220 Lbs. forward that averaged 9.2 ppg and 8.9 rebounds per game at Dodge City this prior season. Pringle sat down with us for an exclusive interview this past weekend.
When do you expect to get out campus and start working out?
“I report to campus in May to settle in and get right to work.”
The staff likes to put a lot of game clips and film comparisons out there during recruitments. Who did the staff compare your game to?
“In my recruitment I watched a lot of the playing system and clips of Herb Jones, showing his versatility and skill set.”
A lot of talk over the past few months has been surrounded about next year’s roster. What do you think you can bring to the table next year coming in?
“Next year, I’m looking to bring a hard-nosed edge, be that energy guy, a great teammate, and showcase my versatility at 6’10 who can guard at multiple positions.”
What are your thoughts on Alabama this past season?
“This past season wasn’t the best year for the guys. Had great games, had some tough ones but it gave me many key points to come in and help emphasize for this upcoming season.”
What are your expectations for the team next year?
“Coming next season, I truly believe we have the pieces to be SEC Champions, and even strive to be National Champions. I have high aspirations for the group we have next year. All of the guys are talented, have a good mixture of age, and will be ready to go next season.”
Are you recruiting anyone currently to join Alabama next season?
“For this class I have not but I have been reaching out to ‘23 Brandon Gardner to try to add even more versatility to the team.”
Obviously, we are losing a lot of experience from this team’s roster. Is there anyone coming in or currently on the roster that you have gotten to know well? And how does the loss of some of these players impact how the team will gel next year?
“Noah Gurley is a guy I watched drop 30 against us two seasons ago while we were both in the Socon. Coming to Tuscaloosa, he is someone I looked up to and hope to learn from this upcoming season. With the loss of some players this past year, I still believe that we have a load of talent coming in that will gel pretty well together.”
What are you most excited about coming to Alabama?
“My skill development and playing in front of the Alabama fans.”
Pringle will bring length and a hard-nosed defensive mentality to Alabama this upcoming season. At 6’10’ he will project as a 4/5 in Nate Oats’ system. I expect him to be a rotational player with high upside. Pringle has three years of eligibility remaining.
Our recruiting analyst, Matt Landry, broke down Pringle’s game and what Alabama fans can expect from Pringle next season and beyond:
“Pringle has the tools to be a versatile defender who brings length and athleticism on both ends. We haven’t seen a big like Pringle under Oats to this point. Defensively, he has the tools to potentially guard multiple positions as he continues to develop. He puts himself in good positions to crash the glass on both ends and looks to attack the ball off the rim rather than waiting for it to bounce his way. Offensively, he is a center who is looking to dunk everything he possibly can. You look to see how the staff can expand his offensive skill set, but early in his time at Alabama I would imagine he’ll be a PNR roll man and playing the dunkers spot other than that. He is a good athlete who will bring energy at all times and make his impact doing the little things.”
