Didn't realize that was you. But yeah, I did think it was interesting that he posted that previously considering he was the AAU coach. Probably nothing to it tbh, but you never know.

I agree with you about Jones however I’d like Brown with the caveat of what George said that it’d only make sense if Gary transferred.

My wish list now is Sears, Reeves, Bridges, and Llewellyn. That would shore up our roster for the 1-3 and then you hope Pringle and Bediako can hold the fort down at the 5 with the 4 being interchangeable with a lot of players.

I honestly wouldn't mind having both Gary and Brown. I like the thought of having a garbage guy on the floor at all times. I feel like this past season has made me want that kind of player even more. However, I would understand if Gary wouldn't want to take a backseat to Brown.

If you look at statistics, Gary and Brown per 40 almost average the same, except Brown averages a few more points and Gary is more efficient offensively, especially on the glass.

I think if it wasn’t for the fact the kid had a career day against us in Columbia, and is from Alabama, there would not be as much interest. Kobe Brown would disappear a LOT in games. Strictly my opinion obviously, but I’d hope we’d go through alooooooooot of other guys before Brown if he enters the portal

Brown's brother is at Mizzou, so that's almost certainly going to be a package deal like Newton if they go into the portal.

That would be a reason I wouldn't want him. I didn't like going after Gurley because it felt like we were interested only because he played well against us. His biggest strengths seemed to be related to his post touches, which isn't something we do a lot of.

I like Brown because he's a high-major player that has all the makings of a great glue guy on a championship team (similar to Gary). He also shot 80% from the FT line last year which suggests shooting improvement should be possible, especially in a system where he should get better looks.

Regardless of his struggles late in the year, he averaged 12.5 PPG with solid efficiency on a team that didn't have anybody else offensively against mostly high-major competition.

The fact that he is from Alabama makes him easy for us to target because he'd be a higher profile transfer that would likely share our interest (similar to Sears). If he enters the portal, he will be highly sought after by MANY high-major teams.

Hard pass on package deals unless one of them is a realistic POY candidate or both are good enough to be takes individually. 13 spots just isn't enough to waste one, which is kind of why we have 3-4 in the portal now.

LSU, Florida, Georgia, Purdue and Xavier are the latest to reach out to Drexel transfer, Cam Wynter, he tells @247SportsPortal.

LSU has been hot and heavy in the portal this cycle. Do y'all think that is more out of necessity from the Wade stuff or if that is a McMahon tendency similar to Muss?

It might be his style, but if they don’t hammer the portal hard this off-season, then they will be absolute garbage next season. I think it is by necessity.

His numbers this year were very solid

25.0% assist rate
17.8% turnover rate
1.3 Assist to Turnover
111.8 Offensive Rating
2.6 steals
44.1 FT Rate
3.4 D-PRPG
58% True Shooting %
88.2% FT
41.0% 3PT

For my peace of mind, can you run these same numbers for Tanner Holden and Antonio Reeves for comparison.

I understand position, opponent and 3pt volume differences. Thank you.

I know his Kobe's dad. The kids and dad are from my hometown and they go to my church. They are good family and very laid back. I've watched both of the kids playing and let me say.. with proper development, they can turn into a real good player.

Sears would be great as a combo with Bradley and could also play off ball some, probably. A steady, veteran, crafty point guard who won't screw up, knows how to get to his spots, etc.

This is the type transfer I want. A high basketball IQ player who can be a leader. We had zero maturity, mental toughness, and leadership this season and it killed us.

Also want other transfers like Bridges who offer intensity on D and LENGTH. Lack of length magnified our poor defensive players as well since we couldn’t cover them up with long defenders surrounding them.

Latest mock from ESPN has JD going 38th and Keon going 48th.
Apparently there’s talk of Keon Ellis entering the transfer portal and, if that’s the case, there’s mutual interest between him and Auburn?

I wouldn’t understand that move but I also wouldn’t sweat it either.

Keon didn’t take the step I thought he would this year but is a decent role player. Tends to hit shots when it doesn’t matter and builds brick houses when it does.

He was the player I was most excited about coming into the season and maybe my hopes for him were just to high

Keon isn’t gonna play college ball next year and if he does…Nate and Hodgson will 100% make sure he is in Crimson
