That's why I was saying the other day that scheduling so many early OVs for high priority targets seems like a big miscalculation.
If you're going to do that you need to seal the deal on the visit.
I agree, I think we should take advantage of the energy of the campus and fans during football season too. I think we should be fine in the end, but it looks like our dream class of 4 5-stars is probably not happening now. I think if we can still seal the deal with Miller and Bradley and/or Walker though and some solid 4-star guys, we’ll be just fine. The transfer portal makes getting talented players every season a lot easier. We have a brand of ball people want to play for too.

Sure seems that way.
Might actually miss on all four of our elite targets.

Any insight on Miller and the postponement? Do we still lead for him?

Haven't seen anything on it yet.

I hope us losing all momentum doesn’t have anything to do with other teams being able to offer more NIL opportunities....that would piss me tf off

Really need Miller if we miss on Bradley and Smith.

This class is looking like it's going to be a huge disappointment compared to how promising it looked just a few weeks ago. While Smith wasn't my favorite of our elite targets, he was the guy we were most confident on just a couple weeks ago and that seems like a definite miss at this point.
We're a Brandon Miller going pro decision away from this class looking very bleak.

Until people start switching CBs, I wouldn't worry.
Honestly, I don't know why recruits wouldn't want to play under Oats right now. Unless he's telling them he won't be here next year, they should be lining up to play under a coach who has gotten a first round picks every year he's been here and runs an NBA offense. Maybe we're just impatient.

Isn’t this what usually happens to us in Basketball recruiting? More often the groomsmen than the groom. It may take a couple more years for Oats to turn that around.

We miss on all these guys and we're going to be in a mess. Looking at losing Q, JD, Keon and Gurley after this year. Better stay on top of that transfer portal.

I don’t think we will be in a mess but Oats and company are probably scrambling a bit right now. Transfer portal will become huge next offseason and Oats has shown he can do well there.

That's the pitfalls of recruiting five stars, every program wants them. I hope like h3ll Oats had backup plans on these kids.
Main reason I admire Jim Belein and Bo Ryan so much was they found talent in unconventional places.

Seems like the midwest has no shortage of giant white guys. Must be all that northeastern european blood up there.

Nah, we are going to be fine as long as this staff is in town. Missing out on these elite targets in this cycle will lower the ceiling a bit for one season, maybe two, but we aren’t going to be in a mess relative to what we’ve been/seen in the past two decades. We will still be in the top half of our league and a shoo-in for the tournament imho.

This is do agree with, but I think the staff has already shown that they were going to do that regardless of what happened with the 22 class.
