Is it just coming back to Illinois or Kentucky?

I feel like Kentucky is definitely the favorite.

Per mistaken, one of our more connected posters on a different board has been saying that we are actually in it for him too, but I haven't seen that anywhere else or from any Twitter blue check guys.

Good chance we will see the other ESPN Events brackets this week as well. (Myrtle Beach Invitational, NIT Season Tip-Off, ESPN Events Invitational, Wooden Legacy, Diamond Head Classic)

I still haven't been able to figure out just what the hell it would look like for us to have Cockburn on the floor tbh.

Yeah, he says he thinks it’s Kentucky but we are being seriously considered. I doubt it but he hasn’t backed off of us being in contention.

Cockburn is basically at that level in which you take him no matter if the system you run isn't a great match but it would feel like an odd fit

That is pretty much verbatim the consensus we all came up with in here a few pages back. Not sure how it would look or actually even work, but he's a beast of a college basketball player and you have to take them when you can get them.

And that doesn't include the great publicity you get alongside it

Basically Phoenix minus the mid range jumpers from Chris Paul. Maybe a little post iso (if Kofi works in his passing like the NBA wants). He run. But when the fast points are not there, he'd be valuable in a half court set.

Landing Kofi would be the only time I'm thrilled and excited about getting a Cockburn.

there's a lot of assumptions in this thread.

Has it even been confirmed his dad is the issue? where did that originate?

Jordan Harper said it and he is pretty reliable.

Oh and Wimp went on the radio in Birmingham and said his Dad didn’t feel he was getting enough shots here. I mean I imagine the greatest coach in program history has connections

I hope no one with actual connections would be airing inner grievances to a loose lipped and sometimes incoherent old man whether he was a former coach or not

I agree.

I will say though I’ve been listening to Wimp on radio for years. He don’t say shite like that unless it is true

It does seem very risky.

Two lottery picks and a first rounder.

Two FORMER lottery picks

Obi still has some hope though he needs to prove something next season at his age, but Knox couldn't get minutes on a lower tier playoff team. They're basically offering two younger guys who played sparingly or not at all and a non-lottery pick. That's a pretty underwhelming offer for a super young and improving borderline all-star.

Tom Crean is tweeting about pizza (Little Caesars because of course) a lot today when he needs to be finding some basketball players.

Cecil is saying no on Kofi.

I wouldn’t be surprised if any staff made a phone call to a prospect like Kofi but as far as being a factor in his recruitment, no.

I'm starting to get really concerned that we are going to start the season with 11 healthy scholarship players.

Just looked at all of that, talk about a lack of awareness. If UGA cared about basketball, he would never survive this.

Bossi's Best: Yohan Traore headlines Adidas 3SSB awards

I spent all of the first of July’s three live periods where college coaches can be out scouting players in the Birmingham, Alabama area. The bulk of my time was spent at the Adidas 3SSB event and the three stripes event was loaded with talent at all levels.

After taking some time to digest what I was able to watch, I’ve come up with some awards to hand out to some of the top performers and prospects at the event.

MOST OPPORTUNISTIC- VEN-ALLEN LUBIN

Recruitment: Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, South Carolina and West Virginia offered after watching over the weekend. Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Virginia Tech and others had previously offered.

How he stood out: With his Southeast Elite team missing three of their best players -- including five-star big man Ernest Udeh Jr. -- due to illness, 2022 forward Ven-Allen Lubin made the most of his opportunity to be the man. Lubin was an absolute warrior from 15 feet in and in who dominated as an interior scorer, hit some jumpers to keep defenders honest and ran the floor with intentions to get to his spot and inflict damage. He put up huge numbers all weekend long and never took a play off. Frankly, I've not always seen Lubin at his best but his performance over the weekend was pretty eye-opening to say the least.

ALL THE PIECES FALLING INTO PLACE- JULIAN PHILLIPS

Recruitment: Visited Clemson, Florida State and LSU during June and is planning to visit Wake Forest at the end of the month. Alabama, Ohio State, Kansas, UCLA, USC and others involved.

How he stood out: All of the pieces to be a big-time player have always been there for 6-foot-8 forward Julian Phillips and he's pretty much always been highly ranked in the top 30 to 40 range. Now, all of the pieces are falling into place and he's proving exactly why he's always been so highly regarded. With excellent size and the ability to be used as a faceup four man or a big wing, Phillips is an excellent fit for today's game. In the past, his jumper has been inconsistent but he's really starting to dial in from deep and is now finding the perfect blend between hunting the jump shot, attacking off the dribble and playing in the post. From beginning to end, few were more steady than Phillips at Adidas.
