Jmo, but I think we gained more defensive talent than we lost. JD and Holt have the potential to be elite perimeter defenders. Wilson, Tchikou, and Bediako are elite shot blockers.

This team will really excel now with Reese, Herb, & Petty gone. They get a lot of credit for the run this season, but I think a lot of other guys plus Oats’ system led to it.
Playing a season without the combo of missed layups, lackadaisical dribbling, & cold shooting that Reese, Herb, & Petty brought will be a breath of fresh air.

I did not mean “role player” in a derogatory way. He was a defensive stopper which is an essential role. He wasn’t a Lebron “carry Delonte West to a finals “ centerpiece though
I still think if he had 4 years under Oats he could have been guy who carries a team.
For the record, I’ve been a Herb truther back when people were clamoring for him to not play and people said he’d never shoot well.
I legit said in the linked comment below he should be able to shoot 35% 3FG since his shot looks alright and people disagreed with me saying he’ll always brick. Well he shot 35.1% this year

I legit came in and congratulated you on a truly awesome season. Not sure how it is wrong to be saying Conf champs reg/tournament and a S16 in yr 2 is amazing and Oatz has you guys looking up.
I didn’t grow up on Alabama, I don’t have some hatred for UA and I don’t care to troll CBB fans on their boards.
I truly am happy the passionate bunch on here had success andwhat looks like a bright future. SEC bball fans outside UK(sometimes UF) is hard, I’m hoping it is easier for everyone moving forward
