Huge news on the AAU side.

Five-star senior-to-be, Nick Smith Jr. will return from his wrist injury and will suit up for @BradBealElite TODAY, he told @Stockrisers.

Every school recruiting him will have coaches in the building. Huge news for BBE.

I can confirm, Alabama, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Auburn, will definitely have coaches watching Nick Smith Jr. this morning. He’s taken official visits to two of those programs (Bama, Auburn) and trips to Arkansas and Oklahoma in the fall.

Rick Issanza has withdrawn his name from the transfer portal and returned to Oklahoma, the team confirmed.

With that, the Sooners have filled all 13 of their scholarship spots.

That guy writes for the Oklahoman. Looks like its Ohio State, TT, or US for Shack.

Didn't the ULL guy just commit to Ohio State? Might be down to us and TTU.

Wasn't Ohio St. in the list as well?

The Big 10 is probably the best place for his skill set, if he's looking for something new.

He'd get national exposure, ridiculously overrated competition, and they're pretty much locked-in to the tournament.

Shack is definitely one of those guys that when he's on the team you root for, you can find all the holes in his game that you want, but I can say for sure I wouldn't want Bama to have to face him, especially not in the tournament. He is one scarry mofo when he gets hot.

As mentioned elsewhere, I don't fault Shack for taking a route he thinks is best to try and further his playing career.

However, and I know this is an unpopular opinion, I kinda don't want him to come back. I know it was kind of a shock that he entered the portal but the more I think about it, the more I like potential roster flexibility rather than an undersized Guard that has to play off the ball and can be a liability on defense.

He hasn't yet, looks like he probably will.

That's not bad. But it doesn't do anything to convince me that Bediako is ready for a big role next season.

This is such a stupid hill to choose to die on. Spain is a good team. 6/6 in 15 minutes is good production. It's like you have convinced yourself that Bediako is Wilt Chamberlain reincarnate because he was a borderline 5* recruit and now you've decided to trash the kid because he isn't a dominant force as the backup center on his U19 national team.

I'm in the same boat tbh.

I would take that stat line from him in SEC play any day 6 rebs, 6 points, 1 block, 1 steal in 15 minutes is good.

I hope he comes back, the staff seems to feel the same way, I dont think they have contacted anyone else and are still recruiting him. He has two years of experience in this system. Definitely would rather have him than another forward.

If he does go somewhere he can handle the ball more and maybe be the PG I wont blame him.

Especially for Bama fans. Kira Lewis played sparingly for the USA squad he was a part of, and all he did was go top 15 in the NBA draft.

My only concern with letting him come back is that there will be some locker room problems or some bullshite with his dad if he doesn't get to play any PG.

Otherwise we're talking about a guy who has been really productive, albeit not particularly efficient, and has a ton of experience in the system. So if whatever issues that caused him to go into the portal in the first place are addressed and moved on from, I'd want him back.

With TJ Shannon back in the fold, the Red Raiders are still looking to add a point guard to the mix.

Alabama’s Jaden Shackelford entered the portal recently and is a name to keep an eye on for Texas Tech fans.

14 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists per game in 2020

Looks like they may be recruiting him as a PG.

No kidding. If he's playing 15 minutes a night he's like the 2nd or 3rd guy off the bench. If the 2nd or 3rd guy on your bench is giving you 6/6 on a regular basis that's not a bad thing.

Im just saying he's not ready for a big role next season. You seem to have convinced yourself he will be a big contributor. I disagree. I actually hope Im wrong on this one but i just call it like i see it. I'm not trashing him anymore than people are trashing Holt when they say he's probably not ready for a big role next season. Everyone still thinks he's talented and hopes he develops into a baller.

But you seem to have a crush on Bediako. Why does it upset you that I think he wont be playing big minutes next year? I dont think ive gone full saban n bear with this take. Not sure why it hurts your feelings

You can't tell if he is ready for a big role next year based on him playing 15 minutes a game in U19.

Kira Lewis played u19 before his Sophomore season and averaged 4 points a game and ended up doing pretty well for us the next season.

Oh please. You compared him to fricking Carl Engstrom, who had no business even playing D1 college basketball. Holt's issue is that he's skinny, not that he is unskilled.

What is going on in here? Y’all need to take a deep breath over Bediako. Gurley is going to be a double digit scorer nearly ever night for us. If Frenchie is healthy, he probably produces more in this system just due to his skill set than Bediako would in his first season anyways.

We don’t need Bediako to give us 15/10 a night.
