Shack tweet from about ten minutes ago.

ETA: and it no longer says Alabama basketball in his bio like it did this morning when I checked his page to see if he said anything.

Lol! I really don’t care I just think his dads talking about more shots is funny.

If true, not sure how Shack's Dad could think he wasnt getting enough shots. But, one thing I liked about Shack was how happy and excited he appeared after every win. He just looked like he really enjoyed the team part of winning.

Well, I was a little bummed about Shackelford leaving at first.

But after that ridiculous statement of not getting enough shots I'm good with it. Last year I wanted Quinerly and Primo to get more shots anyway. Don't want him staying this year and shooting more than last year.

I have a feeling his Dad is probably concerned about Shack not getting enough shots this year. Either way though, if getting the most shots is the goal, see ya. He was a good player last year, though.

OK. Now that the smoke has cleared on who ISN"T going to be here for the upcoming season, who are the top three or four transfer prospects Oats might pursue to fill Bama's holes?

To be honest, Oats moves like 7 steps ahead of everyone it feels like in his time at Bama. Shacks replacement is probably already practicing with the 1’s and he’s just been hidden from the camera.

Not a good look. Of course some people are going to be upset with their leading scorer leaving when there's seemingly no good reason to. Just post your thank you to the fans, talk up the program for the opportunity, and move on. Not sure how an 18-year old who came off the bench for most of the year knows this and Shack doesn't.

That would make way more sense.

Yeah that kinda reinforces my belief that it's not exactly an amicable parting of the ways.

But like I said before, Oats isn't one to mince words so we will get a pretty good idea of how things went down next time he talks to the media.

The #1 overall player in the 2022 class, Jalen Duren, will announce his top five tomorrow at 6:00 EST. Hodgson is the primary recruiter, but I kind of doubt we will be on it.

He's likely going pro so even if we are we're just a hat on the table.

I'm confused. Other posts in this thread had me believing that the transfer portal closed last night at midnight. That must not be the case. So, when does it close and rosters for the upcoming season are set?

Outside the box thought - y’all remember MarJon Beauchamp? Supposedly he is interested in college basketball again and we were thought to be the favorites for him back before he decided to take a year off to train for the pro ranks. No idea if Oats/staff would have any interest now or have kept in touch.

The portal did close at midnight for players to enter it and still maintain immediate eligibility, but anyone in the portal is still fair game to be recruited.

I'd be good with it as long as he's eligible and doesn't plan on leaving after a year to go play in Israel.

Another example of a dumbass parent making shitty decisions for their kid.

I could be completely wrong, but I feel like after his name resurfaced, he announced he was going to a juco. Taking a year off may have made it impossible to qualify anywhere else.
