Wish Primo nothing but the best, but main reason I was excited to get him in the first place was the hope he would be at Bama at least two years due to his age. It seems like we're better off going after a transfer than a kid out of h.s.

Disagree. Wish we had Primo longer but putting kids in the NBA is great for the program.

Lol. That guy have me free tickets to a Bama game, after I littered Knoxville with buttchuggin bumper stickers. Unfortunately, it was the infamous Johnny Football game. Nice dude.

Are they wrong? I don’t get your point

Ther'es a reason why they're drooling over Nate Oats. One and dones have burned the average UK fan out. The current NBA playoffs is loaded with former UK players and they have one NC to show for it.

The goal of recruiting is to get the best players available. Being able to point to the successes of players from your system are a selling point. Kentucky’s lack of success you’re talking about(one NC is more than we’ve ever seen) isn’t because they have one and done’s, it’s because they don’t have the coach that lets these kids utilize their playmaking skills and showcase their talent. Nate Oats is that guy.

Tony Bennett, Bo Ryan, and Jim Belein must be failures to you.

Yeah, I’d lay odds now that Primo is gone. I was holding out hope until the recent tweets. No way he slips out of the first round now UNLESS this draft is just so deep he gets pushed down for other picks. Maybe some overseas picks stack enough players ahead of him he goes early 2nd, but I think a contender (Philly maybe?) takes a late 1st round flyer on Josh. I really wanted one more season of him in Crimson.

I’m happy for Primo but I’ll be really sad if we don’t get to watch him for us this year. I was impressed with many aspects of his game and had high hopes for a big breakout year. If he did come back I’d be surprised if he didn’t go top 15 next year.

Why does a losing team trade its leading scorer?

That whole city is nothing but idiots. They’ve hated on him from the time he got there. I’ll be glad when he gets traded and I don’t have to be a Cavs fan ever again.

Read a couple of articles about it. Apparently, he is heading into his final year of the contract and it is usually is extended. De’Aron Fox got a $161 million contract extension last year, and he may be looking for a similar contract. Also, Garland emerged as a scorer and PG with a higher assist ratio (not by much). Finally, they have the 3rd pick and Suggs from Gonzaga may be there. So, just makes sense for them to get something in a trade now than let him walk. I think it is stupid. Dude can score and plays tough defense. Hopefully, he ends up in a team that needs exactly just that.
ETA: I still can’t stand the fact that Lebron leveraged his status to get them to draft Colin, and then bolted to sign with the Lakers. So, I can’t wait for him to play for another team and win a title before Cleveland. And Lebron can suck it.

Primo kind of hit the wall about mid season. Even Oats agreed when he was asked about it on wjox. Probably one thing that is helping Primo, is that he played pretty good defense for a freshman.

I think Colin would really be helped if he went somewhere with a good system and a place where he could flourish as a second option that plays off guard as much as possible.

As for Primo - he's doing exactly what most of us thought he might do. He's showing off his incredibly diverse and explosive skillset against other elite players. And then basketball ops people look down and see he's doing it at 19 years old, has a lot of available improvement to get even better, etc, and he is shooting up draft boards.
I still don't think it is a slam dunk (pardon the pun) that he leaves, because I do believe it's going to take a no doubt 1st round grade/promise for him to go. However, it certainly is leaning towards him staying in.

i think its a mixture of both. when swallowing up 5 stars they never seem to do a great job of factoring in things like chemistry, playstyle, team needs in general. it seems theyd usually just get the highest recruits they can and expect to win on superior talent alone. when they cant do that then yea, cals platoon system of elbow jumpers and drawing a million BS fouls gets exposed. esp with what we saw last year, but also any of the dozen or so years where they had big upset losses despite having 8 pros. im not saying cals useless, but definitely overrated and a factor in their disappointments.
this year though they seem to have focused more specifically on shooters and vets as opposed to this usual system, though i will say outside of wheeler none of them are really known for playing fast. will be interesting to see what cal does with it. im still personally not sure how well theyll do against the other expected top teams.

I agree he hit a wall. I was impressed by different aspects at different times. I’d love to see him another year and what kind of growth he can show.
