I could get on board with that. 25% of our roster would be from Wisconsin. That’s nuts

Definitely wild. Add him and another BH (if LP stays in draft) I’ll be very happy.

What I see likely is Tyson Grant Foster gets his waiver approved and Nate/Preston go after him especially if Lp stays in the draft

Yay an undersized SF ranked below every SF we lost to the portal and ranked 239th overall and 42nd at the position. Pardon me if I'm underwhelmed. At least it's depth I guess.

He's considered an elite defender, superb rebounder, great athlete, and solid shooter. Also, is on the NBA draft radar for the future. I have no idea why he's ranked so low. Is that what you're basing your assessment on? The ranking? Those are all over the place.

Here were his season averages as a sophomore.

13.1 PPG • 9 RPG • 4.1 APG • 2 SPG •1.3 BPG • 50% FG • 38% 3FG

Yes, please. That is EXACTLY what we need.

Give me some farva beans and a nice Keonte, and I'd be satisfied.

If you are following portal rankings you might be might on the spectrum. Also 6’6 isn’t undersized for a SF. He is an excellent on ball defender who attacks the boards. He would be a solid addition but I don’t expect most randoms like you to understand anything

Sounds like Keonte Jones commitment is imminent(Knock on Wood) would be a really fricking good pickup. And fill a hole.

I like our roster with him and if Philon decides to return we are a top 10-15 team again IMO

Looks like a nice pickup. Stat line is impressive, and everyone needs big wings that can defend. Could possibly give us some smaller lineup options too.

Only stats-based caveat to me is: the shooting looks a bit less impressive when you see he’s averaged one 3 pt attempt per game over his career, and he’s a career 66% FT shooter. He took 1.8 3s per 100 possessions last year; Dioubate took 2.3 per 100 possessions for us. Seriously low volume.

But he’ll be encouraged to shoot more I’m sure, and if he could just hit 33-35% or so, that’d be more than fine if he’s a good defender, rebounder, energy guy, etc.

He's a backup plan to the backup plan. We're only taking him because we whiffed on keeping any of Reid, Naas, or Mo and Duke outbid us for Coward.

After a pretty good start to portal season in getting Williamson, Bol Bowen , and Bethea we've been consistently outbid for guys Nate wanted. Bristow and Jones were not our top targets, they're pivots because we need to fill out the roster.

We're reportedly in contact with Puff Johnson who has no eligibility remaining and isn't actually good. It's ok to admit these guys are just depth pieces being added because our top targets went elsewhere.

And you can shove your personal insults straight up your arse.

You're stating lot of stuff that's not accurate.

here's one of them:

quote:

Donovan “Puff” Johnson is in the transfer portal again after stops at Penn State nad North Carolina. The 23-year-old is a former four-star recruit out of Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix, Arizona.

He’s in the transfer portal for the second time in two years, and he has one year of eligibility left. Last season, he averaged 10.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game while shooting a career-best 54.3% from the field.

The thing I love about the Keonte Pickup is he has produced against Power conference teams:

Stanford: 18pts 5reb
USC: 17pts 10reb
UCLA: 12pt 8reb

He is a very very good pickup. Anybody who says he isn’t is a dumbass who doesn’t know wtf they are talking about.

I find him to be the most intriguing pickup of all the transfer portal additions for us. Looking at his game logs he looks like a guy that can be a bit of an alpha and I'm not 100 percent the other guys we have picked up are there yet. While Williamson might be close, hard to see a center being our offensive alpha in this system.

Shooters are all well and good, but you have to have some real basketball players to mix it up and he appears to fit that mode

Bristow and Jones upside is probably higher than anyone we could've gotten.

Duke can have Coward...we got plenty of talent at the position he plays.

Obviously, some fans aren't paying attention to what Coach Oats and company are doing.

All guys they've brought in has SIZE, LENGTH, and SPEED!

All the guys they've brought in can PASS, DRIBBLE, DEFEND, and SHOOT!

The two transfer guys that I think will shock people next season are...

Keitenn Bristow (6'9) is loaded with potential and he's only going to get BETTER. I think he's better than Jarin Stevenson right now. (My opinion)

Taylor Bol Bowen (6'10) is going to be the key as to how good Alabama can be next season. He has Top 10 level talent in our offensive system. He just has to put it all together.

Quit thinking the world is ending just because we aren't getting the BIG name guys. Lol, we literally don't need them.

We got a SNEAKY good team right now.

Looks like a nice pickup. My expectations aren't as high as some of ya'lls. I don't think this is a top 15 roster. Add Philon and I think you get close. But hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I certainly have reservations, but I do like this pickup today. He looks like a basketball player from the video I have seen of him and not just a specialist with a list of weaknesses that offset his strengths.

I think last year kind of set the tone for what we will see this year. There are going to be 6-8 monster teams who loaded up and then a heavy drop off outside the top 6-8. I don't really even know how good a top 20 team really is anymore

He averaged 10 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists last year. Also those rankers are not coaches. Nobody here had ever heard of Aaron Estrada, Mark Sears, Grant Nelson, or Latrell Wrightsell- who was ranked a good bit lower than Jones but finished his first year at Bama ranked 14th nationally in offensive efficiency. The coaches know what they want.

“Whiffed”? If Naas even had an offer to return, it was for as minimum as can be. We agreed to every pay raise Mo wanted until Ky offered him $1.2 million and starting, which no way would we pay a tough, hard working guy who missed so many assignments we developed “off road” (meaning iff the scouting report) packages for him and had to keep him at 16 minutes a game at best. Reid was happy here, but his mother and handlers never were. You would not agree to their demands either. Wish those guys the best, Rylan too, but coaches have to run the program.

Transfer portal rankings for those guys: Grant #3, Mark #20, Estrada #24, and Trelly #103. Keonte Jones is #239. So no Trelly wasn't ranked a good bit lower but actually a lot higher. And yes the coaches know what they want and that was Reid and/or Coward. They didn't get them so they pivoted to Jones. I don't know why that offends anyone so much.
