EVERYONE PLEASE CALM DOWN!!!!!! The sky is not falling. Our current roster is shaping up to be very good. Retaining Philon I’d take this roster over our final four team based on talent alone. Arkansas made the sweet sixteen with a roster lesser than this. Rylan is a better player right now than Reid. Let’s get one more big and secure Philon and let’s run it. I’m loving this roster now. Length and guys who are willing to defend.

What we're bringing in so far doesn't come close to replacing those losses. Being concerned about next season right now is just being realistic.

All you have to do is look to 2 off-seasons ago before our Final Four to realize we shouldn't freak out. Our roster was in far worse shape at this point of that off-season than it is right now. And then we proceeded to land Estrada, Wrightsell, Nelson, and Wague to complete a solid roster. Being a little nervous is natural, but freaking out and thinking we might not make the tournament given our recent history is a bit much.

We will know more based on Philon's decision. I think he's really the key to this roster having the potential to be a great team. We have a lot of solid pieces for a team that has a lead guard. Spacing ought to be better with this team, so Philon would have a ton of opportunities to drive and score or dish. Holloway just doesn't finish at the rim well enough to take advantage of it quite the same as Philon.

Well Derrion Reid better develop some offensive skill and work on his shooting because he's very basic on that end!

I appreciate the down voter... that's one helluva job on every one of my post.

I hope we get Philon back but I kind of doubt it.

At any rate, I'm more looking forward to seeing what the actual roster will be than too worried while the musical chairs are rotating.

I have faith in Nate but even Saban had an off year or two after heavy roster attrition. And in basketball, with only 15 scholarship players, every loss cuts that much deeper.

That's another thing the FOGs will learn about the hard way. Every great coach has down years. Players don't work out the way you hope. Injuries can derail a will built team. And now, there's the portal shite to deal with.

Here is Jay Wright's record at Villanova...

It took him 4 seasons to get his first Sweet 16. Took him another 4 to get his first Final 4. Now imagine if after our Final 4, we proceeded to go R32, R64, Miss tournament, R64, R32, R32. With a 6 year run like that, there'd be calls to fire him. He then goes on to win 2 of the next 3 titles.

Oats has earned a very long leash. He's done an incredible job navigating the mountain of bullshite with recruiting, roster building and dealing with the portal. But sometimes you're gonna get screwed, and left out to dry. It damn near happened with Bediako, if not for pulling Grant last minute. And even then, we were still not at full potential strength.

Just something to keep in perspective.

I still think we can be a good team next year maybe very good if Philon is back. Just so many unknowns next year though. If Philon leaves, not much coming back that you can for sure count on. How will the three freshmen do? Will Bethea and Bol Bowen meet expectations? Will Sherrell develop and take the next step? How will Wrightsell look after the Achilles?

You have Holloway, but he’s better suited to do what he did this year. Come off the bench, hit some threes, and provide a spark. I don’t think him as the starting point guard and playing 30 minutes a night is a recipe for success in this league.

Can still be a good team, but with all the attrition it also has the potential to bust too if a couple a portal guys don’t live up to expectations.

i wouldnt underestimate adens potential. obviously it all depends on what the finished roster pans out to be, but based on what he did this past season in a limited role id say he at the very least has earned an opportunity for a bigger one. his rotational D needs work but on ball wasnt nearly as bad as some would insinuate.

I think I'm probably the only one who doesn't care at all about him leaving.

London Jemison can slide right into his spot and add the D2 kid.

i know jemison can shoot, plays at a good pace but what about the D and can he fight on the glass some?

He reminds me of Q near the rim where he is not really seeking to finish through contact so he’s going to need to hit hard layups weaving around defenders to be effective.

Look, Q was a great player for us many nights but some nights he was borderline unplayable when forced to drive to the rim.

Philon has a bit more physicality in his finishes on a drive. This portents better for your lead guard on the balance of a season. If he’s not making shots, he’s probably drawing fouls. This is why Sears has been the best guard of the Oats era but he had athletic limitations. Philon has no such limitations. Finding his 3pt shot is a skill development issue.

Philon had games where he was borderline unplayable too.

He needs to work on his shooting and finishing at the rim. He's very good defensively when he's focused.

I would love to have him back but if he decides to enter the draft then cool...all I'm a say is somebody gave him some bad advice.

If Philon wants to enter the transfer portal than gone head and let him because there's no ONE person bigger than the team especially if we are giving him a good offer. Like I don't understand why is the transfer portal even a possibility. I'm sorry...Coach Oats system allowed him to play as well as he did. Folks will learn that eventually.

Just my opinion and I don't expect everyone to agree.

He needs to come back and focus on his weaknesses which he already knows what they are. If he works on those things...Philon will be Top 15 in next year's draft.

Would it be a bad idea to bring Pringle back. It seems that we’re not pursuing Keshawn Murphy anymore. We need that one more big and he gives us a more of a physical presence than the bigs we currently have. What you guys think?

I think bringing Pringle back would be a very bad sign for the health of the program.

I think you went from yelling calm down you love the roster to asking if it'd be a bad idea to bring Pringle back in less than 24 hours. Doesn't seem like a great sign.

That's lot to assume Pringle will be back with team. I don't see this happening.

Murphy is Auburn bound. He wanted a guaranteed starting spot and we couldn’t do that.
