I think I am most excited about Bethea. This guy was the number 7 overall ranked recruit in the 2024 class. 6'4" plus athlete that can shoot it. Give me guards like this dude and watch out.

Someone that tends to be fairly reliable posted similar negative vibes on Reid as well. Haven't heard the rest of that. All of that combined would be.... the nightmare scenario (relatively speaking... we should have a top 15 roster regardless). Hopefully, it all turns out to be bad info or it swings back in a positive direction.

I don’t know why Reid would portal out. I could see the rest happening. I think I’d be happy to get Rylan back although I think he should send me flowers and chocolate to apologize

I’m going to preemptively cope over Reid. IF he does leave then we’re only missing out on potential and not production. He was out half of the year and he didn’t necessarily amaze while he was in. Our 2nd highest recruit after Sexton and he looked great but we’ve had several freshmen make a bigger impact.

Bowen: 6'10, 195, 8ppg, 41% 3P%, 5rpg, 25mpg
Stevenson: 6"11, 215, 5.4ppg, 30% 3P%, 3.4rpg, 18mpg
Bowen on paper should be a good fit for what Nelson and Stevenson were providing.

I wondered about Murphy due to fit and lack of spacing but I would like to have him and feel he'd bring a toughness we need. I'm not as high on Reid as others but definitely don't want to lose him due to his potential. Don't like bringing Rylan back. Numbers significantly decreased this season and he's kind of stiff and shooting is questionable. Would rather spend the money on Xaivian. Philon leaving is rough but understandable and another reason to pull Xaivian or another lead guard.

He was out the most important part of the year where growth and development take place, and while the offense left a lot to be desired, when he was healthy early on he was up there with Mo in defensive impact.

yep, pretty much the only silver lining to both them being gone now is the jarin bros can finally stop living in a world of petty butthurtness about it. that said i do hope jarin doesnt end up in the sec as i just know that one game out of a dozen where he grows a pair would be against bama.

His defense is by far the best part of his game. Easily the best defender on the roster thus far.

Don't know why Philon would lean NBA/Portal but I guess to leverage more money. Do we risk overspending?

Derrion Reid is a question mark for me...I know he was hurt this season for the most part but he doesn't shoot it very well...his potential is through the roof though. Defensively, he's good !!

If Philon AND Reid leave, I think it is fair to downshift expectations to tournament participant rather than contender.
