Florida being the only team in the modern era to win the tourney without a Top 100 recruit is crazy.
Not surprising that NIL/Transfer era will often mean 3 or 4 of a top team's best players are lower ranked recruits who transferred.
However, it's very surprising that any team capable of winning the title doesn't at least have one or two Top100 freshmen/sophomores on the roster somewhere.

Was Doug Shows one of the refs?
One of them was Oglesby. Who is slightly, and only slightly, better than Shows/Adams/Padilla.

Yep! It boggles my mind how he gets to call games past Jr College.

Weren't we second behind Cincinnati in his recruitment?

Does anyone here know anything about Xaivian Lee and how he might fit into our system? He's a PG from Princeton that entered the portal today.

I know he entered with a "Do not contact" tag which usually means he already knows where he's going if he doesn't like what he hears from the NBA.

Ah, didn't realize that.

All athletes don't mature at the same rate nor age. "Late bloomers" that used to stay at smaller schools (and get hot and cause upsets in the tournament) now can follow the money.

True but still very difficult that any top tier P5 program has zero Top 100 recruits anywhere on their roster, much less a good one.
I was curious and just looked very quickly and only counted the players that arrived in the past 2 years and these are some other SEC teams this year:
Alabama 5
Arkansas 6
Tennessee 4
Auburn 4
LSU 4
Missouri 3
Georgia 5
Florida 0
I think Florida was the only SEC team period without at least 1 top 100 recruit this year.

Based on what I've seen, I'd be all for taking him

Crimson Crossover discord has some people that I do believe to be insiders, but it's like a Goodwill. Have to weed through all the dog shite (trolling) to find the something useful
From what I can gather, we are supposedly after quite a few ball-handlers, but the only name been given is Malik Thomas. More of a scoring guard with handles though.
Dylan Darling would make a lot of sense from a numbers perspective. 20+PPG, 5.7/2.5 A/TO ratio, 1.7 steals, 64% at the rim and a solid shooter. No info on which teams have contacted him as of yet.

Is there any talk where the Baylor dude (Wright, I think) is going?

Concerning Darling, I have concerns about guys who go from a major conference school (Washington State) where he did absolutely nothing to a MUCH smaller conference school (Idaho State) and have a big year and then hit the portal the next year. Makes me wonder just how massive the difference in competition truly is.

Ah, of course. I assume it's his deeply rooted faith in Joseph Smith's teaching that is leading him to team up there with Dybansta, his cult brother.

Wouldn't that be the same for everyone playing at that level? I'm polar opposite in thinking. If they start out a HM prospect and then dominate at a lower level then there is both pedigree and production on their side. One of the many reasons I wanted Estrada the moment he hit the portal above all other options two off-seasons ago. These are the guys that have at least seen the level of competition before and just needed to build some confidence through minutes and production at a lower level.

Maybe in some cases. But, those guys rarely go from 0.0 ppg in their second season (I don't know... maybe he was injured??) to big stats in year 3 at the smaller school. I'm just skeptical is all. If the bigger schools want him, I'm sure they have seen more of him and would have a lot more data and knowledge about him than I do.
