Most of these dudes are screwed unless they're prepared for stagflation.

That is true, but Portnoy is schmuck pulling the strings. He’s likely over leveraged in and strikes me as a “I’m the smartest guy in the world because I made money during a generational bull market”.

That’s most successful business people to be quite honest. Americans ride the natural business cycle thinking they’re a hard-earned business success on the upswings and a temporarily embarrassed millionaire on the downswings. People who could succeed irrespective of larger conditions exist but are far rarer.

Well yes, most are over leveraged. But I could see Portnoy being a r/wallstreetbets bro YOLO’ing his money into Dogecoin and Walgreens.

Different type of guy but same concept. Shooting fish in a barrel and thinks he’s Bill Dance.

Bucky was coaching at Mtn Brook HS when covid hit and now he’s going to be at TAMU. Crazy stuff.

Sherrell, Wrightsell, Holloway, and Mallette have all been reported so far today as confirming that they will be back for the next season. RTR!

What matters most to Stevenson isn't money, but his own growth and development. That's why I think he'll stay in Bama.

Holloway announced his intentions right after the season and said he loved being at Alabama. Sherrell was assumed.
I’m a bit surprised with Wrightsell. I hope his Achilles recovery is going well.
Holloway may have a small factor in Labaron coming back if he does. Those two seem to be pretty close.

The amount of people who think Mo D was the next Herb is mind blowing.
Beyond the defensive aspects, Herb became one of the primary ball handlers in our offense. He was straight up playing point forward. The thought of Mo running point is kinda funny. I used to get nervous when he'd occasionally take the ball up court in fast transition.

Are your talking about somewhere recent, besides the press conference right after we lost?

That’s basically an insult calling him Juwan Gary.
That's a damn compliment. Gary was good for us and great for Nebraska. Dude is playing 30mpg and averaging 14.2 points and 5 rpg. Gary could be a high major starter on a lot of teams.

Thanks. You gotta ask nowadays.
That's great news.

Mo was a solid role player. If he was as good as a lot of people on this board think CNO wouldn’t have lost him. Don’t act like we lost the next Herb Jones when we really lost the next Juwan Gary.
i would ask you to explain how the only guy on the team with +11 bpm and negative 100 defensive net rating is lacking in potential but im pretty sure your answer would be something akin to how youre the next mrs. cleo, or some shite. the problem is your types just arent willing to see.....lol

It would likely be that those numbers are skewed due to limited minutes. Efficiency doesn’t always reflect accurately when you are playing in small spurts..also against their bench.

The only issue I have: the head coach straight up called the guy out for not being prepared to play the game at least one time. Similar sorts of call outs happened with Nick Pringle and he was out of town as soon as the season ended too.

sure to some degree but a plus 11 is insane, esp when getting limited minutes. how many guys have you ever seen do that kind of thing, esp with the hardest sos in the country? then when you look at the times where he did get real minutes the numbers were usually off the charts.

Here’s the thing though…I don’t really know what you want us to do. Every single poster on this board WANTED Mo back. Oats wanted Mo back. He chose to leave for more money or more minutes. Best of luck to him.
In the Nate Oats era we have yet to experience a player transferring out that really cost us anything. JQ, Rylan, and Bradley were all transfers that I was really bummed about and wondered how we’d replace them. And in each of those situations the player ended up in a worse situation and we ended up fine.
So it seems to me that Oats knows the value of the guys on the team and the way to keep us winning seeing as he’s the most successful basketball coach we’ve ever had. I don’t think he’d let the next “herb Jones/Draymond Green” walk out the door.
We all liked Mo. We’ll be fine without him.
