I hope we all agree that if the game is tied or we have a lead and there is almost no difference in the shot clock to game clock, you don’t run your typical offense and look for the best shot (shooting early or TO is literally the only way you lose in regulation in that case if the other team doesn’t foul). In no way should you ever shoot the ball with more than about 4 seconds (i.e. enough to get O-board put back but not enough for them to do anything if they catch it with 2 seconds).

Have you seen how those "hold it" possessions generally end for us? Not great. Generally horrid. But I agree the bad Sears pass and the 3 were not great decisions. I think the other ones previously were.

Last regular season home game tomorrow (although the University put in a bid to host the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament)

Stevenson will be a starter. I have a feeling Cunningham won’t be on the team.

I would also be very cautious about Wrightsell expectations. Achilles is very tough for basketball players to come back from.

MSU vs Maryland…and that’s why you don’t shoot too early in the shot clock on the last possession when tied. Apparently 2 seconds is even too much

Reid and Mo D are more versatile players than Jarin. If Reid and Mo D stay in Bama, Jarin cannot become a starter.

Stevenson has literally been a starter most of this year and Mo D has not. I love Mo and the staff does too, but they do not agree with your view clearly. Mo is very versatile and I expect him to be first off the bench and 3 and 4 next year if all players stay.

Just looked at the box score. MSU 33.8 % shooting. Mayrlland 31.3%. Those are overall, not 3s. How do you sit through something like that?

atleast in regards to mo D, i would say common sense. his game is far more polished. jarin tries though. i think he def has the potential to get there eventually if he sticks with oats. same with reid.

interesting take on oat's that train of thought. i do feel its a bit of a misconception towards the point your making. as oats often says its not about who starts but who finishes so the real question should be who is more deserving of the majority of minutes. the reason mo D doesn't play starters minutes now is bc grant and cliff are here, otherwise no question he would. hes arguably been the most impactful player on the team on a per minute basis. it would be a crime to just assume he doesnt get those minutes next season. as for this season jarin became a starter because trelly went down, and i believe oats stuck with it because despite all the slow starts we still won, usually because of our depth. then with the auburn loss oats knew and even admitted he needed to change it up to add more playmaking and in turn better shooting from the jump and i think so far its been a great decision. jarin also has looked more comfortable playing with our second unit to me so far, which again a part of that is due to the fact oats seems to be prioritizing lineups with more playmaking.
