Morehead State and Indiana State won their leagues regular seasons last year and are predicted to this year. South Alabama looked terrible against us, but they are picked middle of the Sun Belt and are now 3-3. Mercer is only 1-3 with a loss to us and Morehead State by 8. Let's see how kenpom ranks all these teams in February. Oats plan every year has been to schedule 4 home buy games to sort things out, and those four teams have had good records and project to be good this year because he wants a high NET ranking. We will definitely know more about us after this gauntlet of Ohio State and likely Oregon on a neutral court, Clemson home, Purdue neutral, and Creighton and Arizona both true road games. Plus Liberty is a really good team, currently ranked 43 in Kenpom, neutral in Birmingham.

m gonna go ahead and play a little devil's advocate. But so far Georgia has lost to the #27, 37, and 38 (all high major teams), and have beaten the #85 and 332. ranked teams on Torvik. While we've played the #230, 121, 207, and 257. So credit to them for scheduling good competition early.
Playing 3 teams ranked 27 to 40 and losing to all 3 isn't good. There are 8 SEC teams tanked in the top 40. Georgia themselves are ranked 82nd, probably gonna be another long season for the dawgs.
We play a harder non conference schedule that Georgia does we just haven't hit our hard games yet.

I agree it's not good. I also think it's a bad strategy to play that many tough games immediately. I like how we are scheduling a difficult ooc schedule, but have a few warm up games before jumping into a gauntlet. I could see playing one good team, like Auburn did with Baylor or Kansas and Kentucky.
But again, I'm playing devil's advocate. I laughed when Georgia hired white. But I'm holding off on shite talking until they do someone like Mizzouri losing to a winless Jackson St.

The 2023-24 ESPN High School Basketball Showcase starts tomorrow! No.3 Prolific Prep at No.4 Columbus. What takes this game to another level is the star power! 9 ranked prospects in the ESPN 100! Can’t miss this early season matchup, Wednesday 6 p.m. ET on ESPNU. Take a peek at AJ Dybantsa & Cameron Boozer.
This is tonight fyi. Lots of talent in this game. We are recruiting four guys that play for Prolific Prep (3 I guess since Aiden is already signed). Zoom Diallo also plays for Prolific Prep (talk about a crazy stacked high school roster

2024 5* Derrion Reid (#14 overall)
2024 5* Aiden Sherrell (#21 overall)
2025 5* AJ Dybantsa (#1 overall)
2026 5* Tyrann Stokes (#1 overall)
The Boozer twins play for Columbus. Cam Boozer is a 5* and #2 overall and Cayden Boozer is a 5* and #17 overall - both in the 25 class.

Stating the obvious, but if we can land Reid to go along with Sherrell, it can't hurt our chances with the next 2 #1 overall prospects.

And I'm pretty sure Preston Murphy was AJ Dybantsa's AAU coach.

He was. Expressions Elite AAU. Every big time school and all the G League type programs too will be after him. Top hs player in the country any class. Can you say bidding war? I just don’t know that our limited NIL can keep up with big league pay for players like Duke and Kentucky. It did’t this year. But it helps to have a connection in Murphy.

He's the one reason I think we have a chance. If y'all thought Reid was a drama filled recruitment, you ain't seen nothing yet.

He says he’s leaning toward going to college over the g league or overtime elite so thats big.

You mean Dybantsa right? I read that somewhere too. Good news!

Any idea when these guys might try to announce?

Said he plans to commit around Christmas break. Claimed not to know where he is going but said a lot of good things about Alabama. Seemed to really like that our staff went to canada to see him play. Said we’ve been recruiting him the longest and he talks to our coaches every week and talked to Oats on Thursday, good relationship ect.

From what I’m hearing he is gonna commit to us, it’s only a matter of time. Good to hear that he plans to commit in about a month, the sooner the better.

MAC followed up the article by saying we are in a good spot. Tim Watts then said staff feels good
