Well considering that it only takes 47 students to fill up their designed student section, I’m not surprised they are camped out.

All seriousness thought, they have the hype and country’s attention right now, and are the hot commodity on campus. Also is prob alot more fun for them than football games considering what they put out there lmao.

First, missed shots are what they are, missed shots!.."look bad" or not.
Secondly, if a guy is hitting 1 out of 4(many hardly contested) 3-point shots, then analytics go out the door! Any team will give you 3 points every 4 times down the floor.
JD's gonna have to put in whatever extra work needed to get his FG% to an acceptable level.

For those of you that live in the Birmingham TV market…..Squadron play on My68 at 7:00.

I’m guessing Petty is playing.

Agree that JD certainly can't stop shooting threes at all. He's probably shooting the right amount now. When he feels comfortable like Herb did last year but not like Shack, Ellis, JQ who should all take every open 3 they get.

The issue with JD in my opinion is fairly common with many freshman. He's just not comfortable yet.

You can tweek certain things to help a bit but it's almost mystical where all of the sudden the game slows down for them; all young players at different paces too.

Right now, he's just not "seeing the game" often enough but forcing things instead, pre-deciding what he's going to do whether it opens up or not.

Coaches like Oats get the millions to figure out the best way to speed up that learning curve and keep the team winning while it's happening.

It's too bad that the current one and done model for players as talented as JD puts a lot of pressure on them to be great from day 1 since that one season is all they can do for the program/fans on the court.

I agree we are just waiting for the light to come on for JD. But at this rate I expect he will be back next season.

Has Alabama ever had students camp at Coleman the night before a game? Of course. Looks like students are already organizing it for the Baylor game as well.

Organizing a group to camp out at Coleman the night before the game against #5 Baylor next week. RT please to try and get word around. I’m going to include a groupme link in the replies for more information.

For those who don’t want to join the groupme here’s the basics. We will be setting up next to the student entrance at around 7-8PM that Friday. If you have a tent to bring please do. Bring warm clothes and a sleeping bag because it will be freezing.

If you don’t want to stay the night, come back the next day and we are going to keep the festivities going leading up to when doors open the next day.

Should be a great home environment for that game.

Camping out for a game everyone easily got tickets for would be kinda lame. Almost like we doing it just because the barn did. Student section leaders cringe now, I miss fluff.

Got to win against missoura and Uga before our next 3 game stretch. Still can’t believe we lost to state and mizzou. We need to get back on track

We ain't talking about Auburn's Wonderboy here! If JD doesn't show marked improvement in everything from shooting skills to decision making (i.e. leaving his feet with the ball before knowing where he's going with it!), and everything in between (incl. defense). We'll be seeing more of JD around here next year, imo.

State's not a bad loss (if there's such a thing. )
They're a tourney team.

That’s fair. On paper their numbers are actually pretty decent. Memphis, however, is shaping up to be a bad loss.

I'm curious to see what Oaks does with the big, physical kid that absolutely owned us in Columbia.
I'd love to see Rojas floor the guy at the tip-off!
