I mean I dunno maybe they've tried all sorts of shite behind the scenes. But at some point you have to do things during games to try and at the very least clean out the old cobwebs and roll the dice a little.

Just rolling the same lineups out there to start games and hoping that guys show up after 7 straight no-shows ain't a progressive strategy.

Everybody quit freaking out.

Last years team warped our sense of what a successful season is. We don’t have the same horses so this is kind of a retool year. We will still go 19-12, 20-11,21-10ish and make the tournament……which for a “down” year is pretty damn good.

Oats will have us back next year

I honestly think JQ holds this team back offensively. He has an incredible skill set, but with him at point the ball sticks too much. It's gotten to the point where he seemingly only gives the ball up unless it's an assist worthy pass. Whether that's him or the coaches, it has to change. This offense doesn't thrive on hero ball.

And that's on top of the matador defense.

Prediction for Miss State:
- One or two of Gary, Gurley, or Bediako get 2 fouls before the first media timeout
- We’ll shoot 25% max from 3 in the first half
- By the under 12:00 media timeout in the second half we’ll trail by double digits
- We’ll randomly start playing with urgency and look like a decent team at that point

The most frustrating thing JQ does is drives, looks like he has a lane to the basket, and then stop and pulls the ball back out….basically dribbling in a big arse circle

Weren’t we projected to be a top 2 team in the SEC and a top 15 team overall? This isn’t supposed to be some rebuilding year where you expect to have multiple bad losses and a month long stretch of shite basketball.

They haven't put it all together yet but there's still hope.

Oats postgame comments are the same tonight as well about needing urgency for 40 minutes. I guess no need to adjust the PC either

I very clearly stated I was a little worried about the team once Primo didn’t come back and Nimari Burnett got hurt.

I’m saying it right now, everybody relax. We will never be in danger of missing the NCAAt

I'm not really worried or not worried about the NCAAT. I'm worried about how this team is playing and how nothing seems to be changing.

What does Oats do then? Maybe put JQ back at 6th man because he was great at that last year? But I don’t think JD is consistent enough to start.

Also like We just can’t make open shots. Did guys not put in the extra shots/work on their own time this summer?

Yea, I think some sort of lineup adjustment is an option. I think that if within the first 90 seconds you don't feel like the energy level or intensity is where you want it, you call a timeout and you do a hockey line change. You don't to yell and scream at guys, but you gotta mix things up and see if something sparks. You can't just keep doing the same stale rotations with the same personal over and over and getting the same damn results.

Now that I'm not sure there's an answer for.

We shoot a much higher percentage on 3s coming in transition and off-ball action than we do on 3s coming from iso action (either from the guy with the ball or the stationary kick-out guy). The problem is we don’t get in transition much because we aren’t disruptive at all defensively. So basically I wouldn’t expect any changes in perimeter shooting until we find some urgency on the defensive side of the court.
