I don’t think anybody is out on Oats except for the FOGs who never post here. People think he didn’t do a good job this year and have a right to question. I still think Oats is the 2nd best coach we have ever had

Oats has gotta get us a big that can step out and knock down a 3. That opens up so much more stuff we can run offensively. Gurley was suppose to be that guy but disappointed.

evaluation
Big hits
Loss of Primo=scorer 3 point and inside and long defender
Loss Burnett not sure about scorer but a long defender
Disappointments
JQ lack of outside shooying clogged the middle taking away his drives lost his 3 point shot for the most part small wing span hurt him defensively
JD maybe asked too much not a three shooter as of yet poor defender but got a little better turn overs galore same clogged up middle due to lack of 3 shooters
JS fairly consistent although games where he disappeared lack of 3 threats made covering him outside easier same clogged up middle
Ellis decent year hopes that he would occasionally take over games never develoed but one of the more consistent players on the team over all
Gary was what he is not a shooter and often had to gurad centers over matched Gave all he had to give
CB not as develoed as we hoped but did seem to improve needs strenght lots of fouls limited time though not unexpected with his youth
Rojas gave everything he had just didn't have much and injries slowed a little. Had too guard centers over matched
Miles some good some bad a lot of nuetral shot inconsistent
Holt who knows could not crack much playing time when he did did not shoot well
Alex T big disppointment bad misevaluation?
Gurley another bad evaluation no 3 shot and very weak on he inside
Overall, only two 3 point threats and one of them couldn't hit for most of the year. Had to play guys that clogged up the middle which took away drives.
Small with little wing span for the most part on defense.
Poor evaluation of bigs seems to be a recurring theme but lack of shooters and wing span doomed this team.

Most of the regular posters were. There's a lot of posters on the last several pages that I have never seen before.
There are a couple of blatant trolls that the mods refuse to ban despite the fact that they only show up when something negative happens. And then you just have the legion of idiotic FOG trash who think basketball should be intramural only. It always happens when we lose. Especially a big game.

I was being a little sarcastic yesterday but should have probably cleaned that up.
The program is back from the dead as it was when Oats arrived. Just getting in the tournament should be a great treat for fans - many stories programs sitting at home this year.

This would give us a lineup of...
G - Much Improved JD or Llewellyn/Sears
G - Burnett
G - Miller
F - Kobe Brown
C - Bediako
6 - Little Improved JD or Llewellyn/Sears
7 - Bradley
8 - Griffen
9 - Gary
10 - Pringle
11- Holt
12 - Clowney
With the wing Transfer somewhere in the rotation. That's a deep team that should be much better defensively.

Really? You put Oats ahead of CM Newton, Wimp Sanderson or dare I say Mark Gottfried?
I think long term.. he'll be better than MG..but he's got ALONG way to go to pass either CM or Wimp.

It wasn't directed at you SOG! I know who's really been riding with Bama for a long time trust me. You, Fever, Bamafan, Chadaristic, Cobra, & Mistaken just to name a few...

We’ve been posting on this forum for a damn decade about Alabama basketball. You registered on 11/26/2019 and gonna come in here asking where we were?
Posted on 3/19/22 at 9:57 am to mistaken4193
Stop bro. You act as if JD can't improve his game with a second year in college. C'mon now

Yessir! I always came to the forum to read the post all the time and it was fun seeing the melts after games but I tried to create an account like in 2017 but I don't know what went wrong it wouldn't let me.

I like that lineup BIG BIRD but my only thing would be Gary & Brown are pretty much the same player so do you let Gary go to bring in another shooter?

That was a great overall take! You hit the nail on the head with those observations.

He most definitely got to get a big that can stretch the defense. There's a guy in the portal that if he gets on the right team he could be very dominant and that's Fardaws Aimaq.
Btw he's dominant right now...

Is Brown in the portal or is this speculation for now? I would love to get him, have read his dad doesn’t care for Bama but no idea if true.

quote:You lost me at the word “Leaders”. The term leader refers to more than just playing time, or class designation. There were NO leaders on that team, and that's what was their downfall.
I think The “Leaders” of this team (JQ,Keon, and Shack) all got complacent after last season and didn’t put in the extra work/effort in (Shack wasn’t even there) and the other guys followed

And you probably don't get Kobe Brown without taking his little brother, also now at Mizzou.

Good morning everyone. The sun did in fact rise this morning despite the amount of Woodford that I consumed last night.
