I think his father is probably a big reason he considered us as much as he did. I got the impression that he was helping us a lot based on stuff he said to writers at least. But the kid reportedly isn't very interested in continuing to do academic stuff and just wants to focus on basketball, which is fine. But that also means you're going to have to make sure he's "taken care of" to the same or greater extent than he would be if he goes pro. I think we probably had something in place for him, but he tried to negotiate something better on his OV and we said no. So now he's going to see if Self will play ball, and if he won't it's on to the G-League.

Really enjoyed @AlabamaMBB practice. Great pace, not a lot of talking but a lot of teaching. The film session prior to practice was tremendous.

Twitter - very short clip of practice

Not a fan of Seth Greenberg at all, but apparently he was at our practice.

That also looks like Bediako hitting a euro step on the pick and roll with JQ.

Was that Tchikou in the headband looking completely lost on defense?

Of course Greenberg is a vertical filmer.

I think Gurley wears a headband.

Yeah, that might be Gurley, because I think I can see Tchikou standing on the baseline right under the basket.

We need some actual footage so I don't have to break down a ten second clip frame by frame.

So Penny admits that he's paying them under the table instead of brokering NIL deals with FedEx?

I usually like coaches who have experience but , and I don’t want to think about it, if Oats were to leave for whatever reason , do you think Hodgson would get a shot / look from Byrne? Kids love this dude and it’s obvious Oats system/ organization , teaching skills are tremendous , he has to know it

5-star SF Julian Phillips (@ju1ianphillips) has committed to #LSU. Huge recruiting W for the Tigers. Really skilled 6'8 wing with NBA upside.

Wow, thought he'd end up at USC.

I need to hear Saban and Bear's thought before I form an opinion.

Another short practice clip. Bediako with a block/contest of Tchikou.

I think Greg would go after the Drake coach while bumping up Hodgson's salary to keep him on staff.

I think it’d be tough for him to turn down following Oats tbh, no matter how much we offered. Hopefully we never have to figure this scenario out. I also think Pettway would get a shot at it as well.

If we were offering the head coaching job, he'd stay. But not as an assistant. Unless he loves recruiting, and Oats went to the NBA.
