You know that SOB is gonna bring up Darius Miles 3 or 4 times the next time he does one of our games too.

It's fine that's what some folks live for but I hope it brings out the best in every player on the ROSTER.

You have this partially right.

The halftime announcer said "Miller is the best freshman in the country on the best team in the country.

Dykes followed it with, "Well, I can agree with the first part of what you said, Miller is fantastic".

fricking dickwad, he is.

Joka, because of the Miles situation I feel it would be disrespectful to do my worried schtick about tonight.

But I’m worried if I don’t I will jinx us……what should I do?

If we win This would be our most impressive win of the season IMO.

Maybe if Oats is letting the "noise" become a distraction. Otherwise, not.

I must have missed that. To be fair, Dykes also said during the broadcast that Alabama has been playing like the best team in the country recently.

His random hatred for Brandon Miller and attempts to paint him as immature is what I hate about his commentary this year. That and his usual inability to not talk about Arkansas every game.

Joka, are you not at all worried about tonight? I mean Bama usually plays terrible in Memorial and Vandy is sneakily pretty good. Stackhouse is a GOOD offensive coach and they score a lot. I’m Nervous

Did you know that Brandon Miller has a low release on his jumper? You may have missed all 384 times he has mentioned it this season and I just wanted to make sure you were informed.

Seriously though, I think it just burns him up that Miller might be a NPOTY finalist and is running away with SEC POTY while Arkansas' 1 and done freshman is in L.A. and may not play again this season. That frustration bleeds over into his commentary and he's unduly critical of Miller because he does genuinely resent him.

My favorite was him mentioning this during the LSU and how Davis was able affect his shot by closing out sooner. He was 2/2 from 3 that game...

We beat #1 Houston in their gym for their only loss of the year. A program that's gone sweet 16, elite 8, final 4 the last 3 years

I've been watching Bama basketball since the Eric Washington days, so I understand the witchcraft hex of Memorial Gym in Nashville, but let's not make it out to be more than it is. This is a decent team in a place we historically struggle- but in the here and now I think it would be tough to call it our best win to date by any metric other than past occurrences.

I think with the Miles stuff, it helps that the core of our team are freshmen. I think it would be a lot different if our 3 or 4 best players all came in at the same time as Darius. I think all the guys liked him, but I doubt he'll be running through their minds once the ball is tipped.

I think if we were to lose this game it would fall more in line of "bound to happen" than team was distracted or we just struggle to win at memorial. If you look around the country at the end of the year you're going to see some perplexing road losses to conference foes. As good as we are, it's still college basketball. If I were to bet on it, I'd lean more towards statement win than loss though.

We've won 3 straight games in Nashville. Haven't lost since the Sexton team.

The old teams had issues there (good old teams like Wimps), but other than that we've pretty much been a program that struggles on the road anywhere. Gottfried was awful on the road. Grant played solid Vandy teams on the road. We had that long streak there, but we had a similar streak in Gainesville too. We've rectified both of those under Oats.

Oats teams have not generally had terrible road issues and as a result haven't had issues in Nashville anymore than any other road venue against an average or below average team. Hell, our team last year won up there.

Doesn't mean we'll win, but Oats and Company have pretty much destroyed all the Alabama Basketball narratives for me - including this one.

It’ll take another win or two for me to get over hating us playing in Memorial. I’ve gotten over Gainesville but even Avery helped with that.

I worry about this road game the same way I worry about any road game - which is a lot. But I don't worry about Memorial any more than Ole Miss or State or Florida anymore.

@ Memorial
Last 5 years : 3-1
Last 10 years : 4-3
1991-2011 : 0-11
1981-2011 : 4-16
1970-2011 : 8-23
1950-2011 : 9-31

I’m scarred. I can’t help it. Memorial is like the JHS version of Basketball for us. Weird shite always happens and JAMYCHAL GREEN DID NOT STEP OUT!!

Seriously too many times I watched Gottfried go to Memorial or the Tad Pad and get destroyed
