As a high school official I can’t stand to work with guys who “want to be seen”. It is the worst trait you can have. The goal of an official should be to blend in and nobody know your name afterwards. Shows, Valentine, Tony G are some of the most terrible in all of NCAAB.

College officiating, in general, is just terrible. We now believe that any time two players touch near the basket, a foul must be called one way or the other. That's why flopping is a thing. Players know a whistle is coming, so they try to convince them to point at the offense. And, they call 10x more offensive fouls than they should. Don't even try a head fake. Doesn't matter if neither foot moves, it's going to be called a travel. Annoys the shite out of me.

It's infuriating. Defenders who are straight up and down getting called for shooting fouls because there was incidental contact. Defenders who jump in front of a driving player at the last instant but manage to establish themselves for a fraction of a second being rewarded with charge calls. Basketball is a contact sport. Not all contact is a foul.

I think we gave the recipe to beat Mississippi State, foul Tolu all night and let him miss free throws. He is a horrible free throw shooter and they continued trying to go through him.

This is exactly correct.
The refs in last night's Washington/Texas game were a perfect example. They made quick calls when they had to be made and let the teams play.

We just got lucky..He's a 65% free throw shooter.On a normal night he would have hit 9.8. Some of those had to have been front end of one and ones so he would have had at least another 7 to 9 points and it would have been a totally different ball game.
