My take on a couple of guys:
-JQ kind a forced the issue a couple of times when he should of been patient. People tend to forget that JQ cooked them last season so evidently they had a plan to stop him and they did a wonderful job by having guys reaching on his drives and collapsing on him. I still loved JQ hustle for 50/50 balls and his toughness to get in there for rebounds when he was struggling. YOU CAN WIN WITH THAT ATTITUDE.
-Miller will have plenty of bad shooting nights and he will also have some stellar one's in his future because that's just life. He's not going to be PERFECT. Half his shots went in and popped out vs Houston but in CRUNCH TIME that's when a STAR usually shows up and Brandon Miller did BIG TIME at the free throw line.
-Griffen aggressiveness kind a set the tone for the team because I don't think he's ever seen a shot he didn't like lol. He loves the big moment and he almost had a few steals by jumping the passing lanes. I just love his energy and he's always like laser focused.
-Sears was just a stone cold killer. He's so tough and I am so happy we grabbed him out of the portal. He might be the smallest guy on the floor but he has the heart of a LION.
-Bradley just flat out put up a terrific performance. He showed toughness and grit. We got the WIN because he was able to lead down the stretch by getting into the lane and JB either scored or kicked it out for the open three.
-Clowney just might be a top ten pick. We might as well get ready because he affects the game in so many ways. He's very similar to Herb Jones but Clowney is every bit of 6'10 with a wicked wingspan. He out played Jarace Walker which was crazy because Clowney still can get a lot better like Top 5 level better. He's our MVP!
-Burnett has that Keon Ellis type feel to him when he first made it to Tuscaloosa. He's willing to defend the best player on the court and has the ability to shut them down and must I add that Nimari is a CORNER THREE SPECIALIST!! Phenomenal individual defensive performance by him.
-Pringle came in and gave us energy and enthusiasm. I thought he made plays just by having the right MOTOR. I think they missed him on a few slips where he was open going to the basket but Pringle gave us an opportunity to sit Clowney & Bediako. The job got accomplished by CerealBox

And I just think it's absolutely silly to get this bent out of shape over a comment about Miller needing to stay aggressive and JQ needing more time to knock the rust off. These aren't the insults you're making them out to be.
bullshite. Meet me at Sonic and I'll show you otherwise!

Bradley and Griffen need MORE minutes.
Honestly our best Lineup is the 4 Freshman and Sears IMO

Lol, I love this type energy.
Bro can I come watch the fight? And who's paying for something to eat afterwards?

But Joka, Are you not worried about a letdown against a very good Memphis Tuesday??
I’m nervous

I'd like a chance to play them again. I think that game was a bit of a wakeup call for us since it was our first time dealing with any real adversity, and we have subsequently responded pretty well. I don't think they'd push us around in a rematch.

UConn was ahead by 35 at the half yesterday. Opponent was suspect but that's impressive regardless.

Burnett instead of Griffen, who I love but who also isn't the defensive stopper Burnett is yet. Otherwise I agree. I think our best lineup is Sears-JB-Burnett-Miller-Clowney.

I don't think it's that big of a deal that I disagree with your takes. I didn't make it personal. I thought your analysis was lacking substance and that it's a bad time to criticize the team coming off a huge upset win.
It's not the end of the world if we disagree. I have shitty takes sometimes. You might think all of your opinions are flawless. But there is no need to get bothered by somebody on the internet having a different opinion than you.

I keep coming back to this thread because I’m still so pumped about that win yesterday. I can’t get over how our guys responded after being down by 15.
I think I saw something that said they scored 52 points in the final 17 minutes, averaging nearly 2 points per possession and only turning the ball over once. That would be impressive against anyone, but it happened against one of the best defenses in the country, at their house.
My Alabama basketball ptsd says we’re going to get blitzed at home Tuesday by Memphis but I’m ignoring that for now and just relishing this win.

Sampson allowing Mark to foul out with 8 minutes left was a huge botch too on his part.

Those guys were probably the top 5 players yesterday but I don't think our success comes from having a certain 5 guys out there. The greatest strength is having so many interchangeable parts so that guys can go hard all game long.
People will forget but Nick Pringle had a big impact when Houston was knocking us around. He came in when we needed toughness and was able to give Chuck a breather. Same deal with Griffen coming in to give Burnett a break from chasing Sasser around all day.

Having a great crowd with at least 80% full will do a lot for helping our team get the win Tuesday.

Houston’s athletic front court could turn a vacant parking lot into a rain forest quickly. Leaving JQ literally nowhere to go takes away some of JQs game of finishing/dishing. They were just that good. Floor will be much more spread for him at the next level.
Miller couldn’t catch a break shooting, but was 100% clutch when it meant the much. Wonder why UH kept fouling him?
Bradley looked like one of Al McGuire’s great Marquette handlers from back in the day. Lots of dog in his game.
Sears was Meh and not the best little guy on the court.
I’m certain this is fact because I listened to the network TV guys gush over Shead like he was the next The Answer.
CLOWNEY is looking like one and done. If Bradley improves his shooting, he may join Miller and Clowney in that status. .
At least then we could all bitch about CNO recruiting like Calipari
Pringle and Griffen showed more depth than previously thought.
My $.02.
And these UH fans bitching about the officiating…in the first half, UHs aggression on D looked like somebody threw a basketball out on a football field.

I don't really like how Memphis is getting us coming off 2 emotional highs and a quick turnaround after a physical, hard-fought game for the second year in a row.
