Rothstein has us up to #7 this morning. With all that’s happened above us, we should be top 10 today in AP making the UH matchup on Saturday a Top 10 showdown.

Note: I know we had a struggle win this weekend, but Zona was only up 7 at home with 10 to play against a really bad 0-9 Cal team (23.5 pt favorites and won by 13). It happens.

I think we should be in the #8-6 range in the latest AP Poll.

Also, it's another matchup in the Houston-Alabama chronicles, saw a video last year of Houston players angrily kicking a trash can . Was wondering if that was our game or not?

Yea. They all showed their arse after last year's game except for Jamal Shead. He stayed after to clean up their mess.

This rematch is going to be rough. Our guys are going to have to be on point and keep their heads.

Definitely going to be a baptism by fire for the freshmen. This will be their first experience with a truly hostile crowd.

Top half of the league is strong. Bottom 1/3 is a dumpster fire.

Nate did a nice job tweaking the scheduling this year - whether intentional or just circumstance. We have a bunch of great opponents, but there is a little more breathing room in there (SDSU, Jackson State) and he gave us a nice start to the year vs some solid but not great mid-majors before we went to Portland.

Last year was just too much. When games like Davidson are your come down, easy games you need to reset a little.

100% agree. This schedule is about as perfect as you could draw up tbh.

@AlabamaWBB is ranked No. 28 in the first @NCAA NET rankings.

That's good for fourth-best in the SEC behind 1) USC 5) LSU 23) Arkansas.

Wasn't Davidson a last minute re-schedule? I mean if anything that makes it a bit worse that we added them, but from what I recall we were originally supposed to play someone else pretty good like Colorado State until they had a COVID outbreak or something.

Regardless, the schedule this year is set up much better. It was just pure madness to have an OOC schedule with like 2 total Q3/4 games on it last year. Even if you have a team full of fully bought in upperclassmen that is going to wear you down. A marquee tournament, 2-3 other Q1/2 games, and 5-6 buy games is the way to go.

Yep - they replaced Colorado State.

Basketball is a sport where it's hard to look out and predict a team will go winless or undefeated because of the nature of it.......but.........

@ Florida State
Western Kentucky
Florida A&M
Lipscomb
@ NC State
@ Kentucky

That's looking like a 1-13 start heading into January without many wins on the schedule the rest of the way.

Torvik currently has them as favorites in 1 game the rest of the season (FAMU) and going 5-26 (3-17).
