new arena article
Using NIL as an excuse is kinda bullshite. The Crimson Standard thing was announced in mid-2018. They just prioritized needless BDS upgrades instead of addressing facilities that actually needed work and missed the boat when COVID fricked the construction industry and costs went through the roof.

If interest rates come down like that, the usd may crash which would drive up costs for imported materials.

do not expect Alabama to make a move on this until the federal reserve rate goes back down dramatically.
Would love to know how this happens without an actual recession-like collapse.
I've been waiting for it patiently myself

It's not happening any time soon and when it starts happening it will probably be a long off-ramp to lower rates. So yeah, don't bet on it happening sooner rather than later.

To reiterate my reply above, I don't think it is happening soonish and if it does happen it will be gradual.
I couldn't imagine getting back to the interest rate circumstances that existed while most of this new arena talk was happening until 2+ years from now if the Fed started the off ramp next week. I'm betting on the Fed holding their rates for another quarter.

Well. They’re not Red Panda, but tonight’s halftime entertainment

Interesting, Interesting...but will we win the game today?
Posted on 1/27/24 at 10:24 am to BFANLC
I think so. I’m hopeful we don’t come out flat and get off to another slow start. It’d be nice to jump on them from the tip and try to put together a complete performance. Sounded like that was the message from Oats in his PC.

We aren’t good enough to win by just showing up but I do like the fact they played on the road a few days ago and lost a tough one and are traveling again after being home 1 day, and the sellout always helps. RTR

Does Griffen start over Estrada. Unless Griffen is the new 6th man. Walters minutes have been reduced. Is it the D that is his problem?

I think our best lineup starting around mid-February would be Sears - Wrightsell - Griffen - Stevenson - Nelson.
I am not underestimating Estrada. He's one of our best players right now, he's a good rebounder, he's got a lot of experience and a lot of skill.
However, since he tends to have ups and downs in offense and defense and is one of the players with the best on-ball ability, I think having him play as a sixth man would help the team's balance.
Stevenson continues to adjust to college basketball. I was surprised to see a lot of improvement in his defensive ability in games against Tennessee and Auburn. Of course he is young, so he will have ups and downs and make many mistakes, but I hope we will continue to give him opportunities. If he fully adapts to college basketball, we will continue to win.
If you need defense, Dioubate
If you need offense, Walters

Not many teams are as athletic as Auburn re Walters and playing time. He'll still play some, imagine he plays more tonight. He doesn't ever match up great at this point due to his D but some teams are better than others for sure.
I'm really curious how Auburn bounces back today on the road against a team that really needs a win and has some talent.

I know im in the minority here, but I keep waiting for Dioubate to explode. He is rough as hell around the edges, but he is a ball hawk and he surprises me with how easily he can take his man off the dribble and he has surprisingly good handles. Yes, when he gets to the rim he struggles to finish but he does draw a lot of fouls. Downside is he has a horrible free throw touch. Something tells me the lid is going to come off the basket for him and he is going to put up a nice number.
I have noticed that when we look a bit lazy on the rebounding end Oats throws him in there to sort of set the expectation.

I think we all keep waiting for Pringle/Dioubate/Stephenson/Wague to break out.
Can Pringle return?

Im not sure what his status will be for an extra year. I have kind of tempered all expectations with Pringle and Wague and just learned to accept their limitations.

Really tough loss for UGa in OT. Couldn't have asked for more. They've lost 3 of 5 now.
