OSU for the last 10yrs had some of the best talent in college football if not the best. No matter how much you’re willing to spend building a team, if you don’t have the right coaching staff in place it doesn’t matter you won’t ever win championship on money alone. That’s collegiate and professional

I think it is pretty clear the last two years that Alabama is not really THE top roster anymore. Last year that was more true on offense but with the roster turnover on defense it is essentially true on both sides now.

Alabama was not getting the reality check quite as strong because Saban covered for a lot in terms of attracting talent irrespective of NIL payout. Georgia is starting to get that reality check but Smart’s success will make it a slow roll.

If you ain’t paying, you ain’t trying. And if you can’t pay near the top by keeping pace with the financial brinksmanship game then you will start falling back to the pack.

I’m guessing that schools like Alabama that may have a large fanbase but billionaire poor may need to figure out how to recreate the old scholarship and transfer restrictions via employment contract law quickly or they can expect to become a footnote to history like Minnesota football. You know they use to be a dominant program that was the class of college athletics? Yeah, back when we were still occupying Germany and Japan.

Why this just can't be true ! All the dickholes on the Rant told me this was the most talented team in the country bar none.

Even though this announcement doesn't specifically say it, based on what I've seen around X, I believe this is another major Michigan player who has opted out of the bowl:

Hale looks like he needs some more time to rehab that injury

Good to see him practicing. My guess is that he will miss spring practice and hopefully be ready for fall camp.

So it looks like Orji is still practicing with Michigan and is going to play in the bowl game. I imagine we'll see him running some sort of Vandy/OU package at some point in the game.

In case people are wondering, we have 5 EEs taking part in bowl practices:

quote:

Alabama has five signees that have already enrolled and made the trip to Tampa for the ReliaQuest Bowl. Those players include edge rusher Justin Hill, safety Ivan Taylor, tight end Marshall Pritchett, and linebackers Darrell Johnson and Luke Metz.

The rest of the EEs will arrive at some point in January.

That’s literally their only option right now with the personnel losses that they’ve suffered. Hopefully no more issues this time with that type of scheme.
