The O-line wasn't great last year. But people need to stop pretending Milroe didn't put them in bad situations.
Nobody doubts that Milroe has the physical talent to play QB. And, he's obviously a smart guy. So, his issues boil down to two possibilities:
1. He was behind schedule because he didn't get good coaching.
2. He just doesn't naturally process everything at game speed. That's not a knock on him as a person- most of us couldn't do it either, even if we had his physical talent.
Personally, I think it's a little of both. I do expect him to be better this year, but I don't know if he's ever going to be the superstar everyone will say he is. I'll be happy if he can line everyone up and get the snap count right. Throwing receivers open rather than standing in the pocket for 5 seconds waiting on someone to get 3 yards behind defenders downfield would be nice too.

I was team Simpson last year, and I thought he'd beat out Milroe this off-season. The only thing I've really questioned Deboer about so far is how he just handed Milroe the job. I think he should have called it an open competition, even if he already knew Milroe would start.

JMO but Coach needed to do whatever needed to keep the team intact during the change.
If JM shits the bed in those 1st four games, then he will do whatever is needed then.
