I am higher on Cole Adams than a lot of people are.
He's a faster version of Slade Bolden. One thing I love about Slade Bolden was that he was tough as shite and he knew how to get open.
If Cole Adams has those last two intangibles that I just mentioned about Slade Bolden then it'll be hard to keep him off the field.

Cole is a much better player than Slade Bolden. The only reason people make the comparison is that they’re both white wide receivers. That’s where the comparisons end.

I think/hope he's closer to Hunter Renfrow and he plays at Bama for 20 years like Renfrow did for Clemson

Come on, this is TBD, Cole hasn't played a snap of college football.
Cole is a better prospect than Slade Bolden because he has elite speed, but we've had fast guys before that didn't pan out. All signs from camp point to Cole being a good player, but Bolden scored a TD in a playoff game, lead the team in receptions in a national championship game, and had a better career at Alabama than Kendrick Law is on pace for and I think we're all high on Kendrick Law.

I make that comparison because he's similar in height but a little thinner than Slade Bolden.
Cole Adams haven't played a meaningful snap yet so he's not better than Slade Bolden YET!

Anyone heard whether KD will have a depth chart by the first week. I know NS kept it close to the vest until the very last.

A lot of the starters seem to be set from everything I've heard. Maybe one or two position groups will shuffle a few guys around, but it shouldn't be hard to piece together based on camp reports even if there's no official depth chart released.
I'm curious who will emerge at corner and pass rusher though.

Domani is set at one of the corner positions. They have been working DaShawn Jones, Zabien Brown and Mbakwe at the other position. Jones has been cross training at both positions in case Domani were to go down. If that other position can get settled then this defense will be very good.

I keep hearing Brown's name thrown around. The transfer from Wake Forest would be good for some veteran presence, but he's nowhere near the athlete that Zabien could be if he starts to figure things out.

Mbakwe is the best athlete in the secondary. If HE can get things figured out soon then wow.

Thought I saw someone post on here that Mbakwe was seen at punt returner as well.

No, one is listed 5'10 181 and the other is listed 5'11 189. And they both redshirted their first year at bama. Both guys scored a lot of different ways in high school; they are playmakers.
Everyone agrees that Adams has better speed. But dont pretend they arent similar players.

Slade was a QB-RB in high school. Really good athlete and I seem to recall he was the Gatorade POY in Louisiana his senior year.
Cole was/is a WR. Similar size, Different background.

Lunch pail guy, gym rat, real scrappy player, deceptively athletic, like having another coach on the field, very high motor, you know real cerebral player.

Agreed. But the comment was the only comparison is that they are both white. Thats just lazy. Plus, right now, "faster Slade Bolden" is a big compliment. If Cole can outgrow that label then he is destined for great things.

Imagine being so arrogant you want to change what a top5 pick has been successful executing for years before you came.
Seriously.
People here really don't understand how bad these coordinator and some position hires since Pruitt, then Sark left.
When they see us this year they will be I awe when actually see good coaching and creative playcalling combine with the best talent

We all saw how Anderson and Turner were handicapped as pass rushers in big games due to scheme. Makes sense.

I just think defensive coaches overthink it. It's hard to stop offenses from scoring with the current rule set. That is by design, the TV people like to see points. If you're going to win you need to do it in the red zone for one to turn TD's into FG attempts. Secondly it's all about disruption. If you give a mediocre QB time to pass he's going to look like John Elway. If you give a good passer time to pass he's going to hang 40 on you. You simply cannot allow a QB time to get comfortable unless he truly does suck. but with the open portal everybody has a good QB who can rip it. Put that man on the turf by whatever means is necessary.
