Refs weren't calling shite in that game. We damn near killed Watson a few times and I don't think they called any of them unnecessary or targeting. In retrospect, it is doubly regretful that Foster didn't break the massage terrorist before he was unleashed on Houston.

That anyone thinks that first the greatest college coach of all time and then his highly sought after replacement would both start Jalen over Ty for any reason other than Jalen is the better QB is laughable.
But Saban did have a tendency to keep the better player on the bench at times. Although I do believe Milroe is the best QB on the roster at this point.

How many of you recall how incredibly terrible Blake Sims was during A-Day 2014?
But Milroe hasn't shown any significant improvement in two consecutive years so it's easy to easy to see why others are skeptical about seeing a massively improved Milroe this season...

Milroe also had one OC who told him to change positions and never invested time into making him better and another who was option 3 or 4 on the list of possible hires. Let’s give him the opportunity to show what the work he put in in the offseason has led to and give him a shot.

Even with Lane Kiffin coaching him during spring ball, Sims looked exactly like a RB trying to play QB in the 2014 A-Day game. Between then and the regular season he looked like a completely transformed QB.
I am guessing that most of you assumed that Jake Coker had the job sewn up coming in as a transfer, as I did. And Sims put that noise to bed real quick. Then one year later, with Kiffin coaching him, Coker led the Tide to a natty. He also made the huge leap forward.
Again, most of you want to call me a JM sunshine pumper. Nope. All I’m saying is that writing off a big jump for him is closed-minded.

I love Blake but his philosophy as a QB was basically "frick it Coop down there somewhere." Lane didn't develop QBs so much as identify the best player on the offense and put the ball in his hands as often as possible. With Blake it was Coop and with Jake it was Derrick. And it mostly worked.

We have some question marks but I’m excited as hell about this group and new coaches. I think we are going to have a really good team.

It'll be surprisingly good.

I will never understand this line of thinking. Fans don’t get to give shots. All this talk has no impact on if he gets a shot or doesn’t.
What the hell does this even mean? Are you telling everyone if you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all? I’ll pass thanks, he’s had plenty of opportunity to show improvement and hasn’t. Stop blaming BOB for his shortcomings, they are his. Dude needs to stop worrying about what he looks like.
If Milroe is improved I’ll be thrilled, but if not I won’t be a bit surprised. Hopefully DeBoer can work some magic instead of killing his tenure at Alabama before it gets started. DeBoer already sounds like he’s got some misplaced loyalty to this guy.
Hopefully this dude hands the ball off more often than not this year.

It'd be real cool if Jalen Milroe was improved as a thrower and made better decisions on when to run or pass instead of just taking coverage sacks.
Wouldn't you agree?

Honestly I don’t think we realize how much the bad snaps screwed up Jalen’s game. Having to adjust to a bad snap 50% of the time. So eyes off the field for a split second. Not saying that was the only factor but it definitely was. Michigan game was absolutely horrendous snapping.

I’m really hopeful that the new staff have been able to make significant improvements with his development and decision making. I have to believe they have, otherwise why would DeBoer be starting him. I think DeBoer understands the situation he is in.

My opinion...
I'm a tell it like it is.
Milroe issues are reading defenses, going through progressions, pocket awareness, staring down receivers, intermediate passing, accuracy, and footwork! (Normal QB Stuff)
Coach DeBo can mask his deficiencies with stellar play calling if need be and I think he will have to because everything ain't gone be fixed in one off-season.
Now, a lot of people like to compare him to Hurts or Sims and I can see some similarities...but the thing is both of those guys had decent footwork, decent accuracy and they could read defenses better than Milroe and yes, that all could be due to coaching that they had.
So with that being said... I want to see how Jalen Milroe performs in a game. Will Coach Debo have to mask massive deficiencies or has he improved enough to run a FULL Coach DeBoer offense.
If he's improved...we will be a Top 4 team in the country!
By the way...I like the relationship between Jalen and Ty! They have Tua and Hurts type of feeling to them.
Ty Simpson is ready right now. He looks like a different player in this offense but his time will come and he will light it up.

Will be interesting to see how long Milroe is given if he struggles and Simpson comes in a moves the team.
Hopefully DeBoer won't sign any projects at QB.

Look, Milroe will struggle some in the new offense but I do think if they utilize his strengths...he could be very effective.
The question will be though...Will Milroe strengths be enough to run a full Kalen DeBoer offense?
Coach DeBo is a QB guru so I'm a leave all that to him!
I think we are blessed though just to have both of these quarterbacks and I'm here to see both shine for sure.

Which of the following QBs can read defenses and make good decisions etc, based on the stats below? No cheating or Googling allowed here. My bet would be that one or two of them would be laughed at as a potential Alabama QB for 2024.
“QB A”
65.4 completion pct.
2380 yards
10 TD
10 INT
“QB B”
68.6 completion pct.
2913 yards
17 TD
3 INT
“QB C”
57.8 completion pct.
2894 yards
16 TD
5 INT
“QB D”
65.8 completion pct.
2834 yards
23 TD
6 INT
OK time to remove the blindfold and reveal the candidates.
QB A is Jayden Daniels 2nd season at ASU.
QB B is Jayden Daniels 1st season at LSU.
QB C is Joe Burrow’s 1st season at LSU.
And, of course, QB D is Milroe last season.
Burrow and Daniels were both grad students during their final seasons at LSU, allowing them to basically “major” in football their last year. That’s the situation Milroe is in now. We also know that Burrow got MUCH better coaching his final season under Joe Brady. Does Milroe have much better coaching now than last year? Most of us are hoping so.
Once again, you have two choices. To believe there’s a chance he makes a big jump from last season, or not. It’s not gonna change the results either way. If you are hoping for Ty Simpson to start, you’ll be waiting until at least early October to get your wish.
It’s not like Milroe even has to make a Joe Burrow type leap in order for Alabama to challenge for a title. It was an OT period away las year. There just needs to be marginal improvement in every aspect of the offense. How many of you think that will be the case? I certainly do!

That has nothing to do with reading defenses.
He was actually easy to defend when it came to passing the ball!
People who have eyes and watch games know this to be true.
Texas and Michigan slowed us down and made us almost one dimensional because of Milroe's deficiencies in the passing game. Yes, snaps were bad but his accuracy was not good at all.

I love that guy’s hair. He already sounds like a complete wacko and the hair kind of completes the image he’s nuts.
