yesterdays loss should be an an embarrassment to every player and coach and should be a wake up call that if you dont bring the A game every day you will lose to a UT Martin
Also Denton and Dio are batting below 229. with a combined 19 K's. Not a great look for returning starters.

Beautiful day at the Joe. McNairy was on fire. So happy for Hayslip. Good to be back in the win column.

McNairy’s Effort on the Mound, Steady Offense Leads Baseball to 8-1 Win over Troy
The senior starter posted 7.0 scoreless frames to pair with a season-high 15 hits from the offense
Alabama baseball used a dominant pitching performance combined with steady offense to cruise to an 8-1 win over Troy on Wednesday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The Crimson Tide is now 6-4 on the season following the midweek victory.
Alabama starter Jacob McNairy (2-0) was near-perfect in his second start of the season. The senior maintained a perfect game through 6.1 frames and finished with a career-high 7.0 innings of work for the win. McNairy did not issue a walk and struck out a career-high seven batters before handing it over to the bullpen. The freshman duo of Luke Holman and Connor Ball combined for the final 2.0 innings, striking out three to secure the win.
The Crimson Tide's offense scored in six of the eight innings on Wednesday, including the first four frames, to provide McNairy with plenty of run support. Eight of the nine Alabama starters registered a hit on the afternoon with Zane Denton and Jim Jarvis each contributing a three-hit performance. Denton finished a triple short of the cycle, going 3-for-4 with a single, double and home run to pair with two RBI and two runs scored. Jarvis wrapped up his day 3-for-5 with a triple and one run.
From Assistant Coach Jason Jackson
"The story of the day is right here next to me (Jacob McNairy). I think we have been playing well, just coming up a little bit short. You sometimes need someone to put the team on their back and that is what Goob did today. He gave us 7.0 great innings and really carried us. We really swung the bats well, did a great job of getting guys on base each inning, and we continued to add to the lead every inning. This was a really good effort, especially after we have come up short these past few days."

McMillan, Ray Lead Baseball to 5-1 Win over Murray State
The pitching duo combined for 14 strikeouts and did not issue a walk in the series-opening win
Alabama baseball came away with a 5-1 win over Murray State on Friday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The series-opening victory moved the Crimson Tide to 7-4 on the young season.
Garrett McMillan (1-0) was brilliant in his third start of the season, picking up the win in the series opener. McMillan struck out a career-high and Tide season-high tying seven across his 6.0 innings of work. The junior scattered three hits and did not issue a walk before handing it over to Dylan Ray. The Tide reliever entered for the final 3.0 frames, allowing one run on one hit while striking seven of the 10 batters he faced for the save.
The Crimson Tide's offense produced 11 hits on the way to five runs of support for McMillan and Ray. Alabama posted a pair of runs in the second, added one in the fourth and put up another two in the sixth. Tommy Seidl and Andrew Pinckney led the offense, each contributing 3-for-4 efforts. Seidl homered and added an RBI to go with a pair of runs, while Pinckney recorded his first triple of the season and led the Tide with a career-high tying three runs scored.
From Head Coach Brad Bohannon
"I'm really glad to get a win today. Garrett McMillan and Dylan Ray did an outstanding job and when you punch out 14 and don't walk any, that's just a tremendous, tremendous effort. G-Mac and D-Ray did their job, and I'm really proud of those guys and happy for them. If we can continue to pitch like that, then we're going to be in every game that we play and have a chance to have a really good season."
