I’ve been measuring this team against the 2012 team. Yes, we’ve lost a lot of talent but where’s the Bama factor? There’s no guys on this team like Norwood, Fowler, or Lester.

Robinson is a local guy who plays really hard.

I can agree the team seems to be missing guys that show out in big moments like the three you named though.

B-Rob and Mathis should be excluded. You can tell we’ve had some recruiting whiffs in the front 7 and missing the ESD boat in 2018 hurt us.

Because we went back to back championships. Moreso we went undefeated after losing Hightower, Mosely, yeldon etc…

We did that with Trey Depriesr, Nico Johnson and a bunch of other guys you’ve forgotten about.

What’s the difference between that team and this one? Upperclassmen that hold the standard.

This was 2010, other than Barron

ETA: you edited this, but Yeldon was on 2012 team (backup to Eddie Lacy). Probably meant Richardson

The difference between 2012 and 2021 is that in 2021 we had a second-year starter returning at quarterback and several players returning from the greatest defense ever assembled

Bryce isn’t the problem- he’s a heisman front runner. Who was returning from that all time great defense?

Nico Johnson, Milliner, Jesse Williams, Robert Lester and CJ Moseley.

Young isn't the problem, not even close. However, a second-year player generally understands the offense better than a guy just coming in and has more experience playing in hostile environments. Young is not an issue but there are plays he could have made against TAMU that he didn't which could have won the game. He shouldn't have to score 42 points to win, but unfortunately that's where we are

If that was a typo and you meant 2012, that was AJ's second year to start.

Measuring them up against 2014 Bama makes a lot more sense talent-wise except we had a DC that wasn’t potato-level.

We did not go undefeated after losing those guys.

Plus those guys left after the 2012 season.

What is the Bama factor?

We haven't had a good defense in the last few years, we don't have a good offensive are the two immediate things that jump out.

That team also lost to Texas A&M though.
