The #1 ILB in the draft up and left. And, then he injured Bryce's shoulder. That was a huge impact to our team. If Drew stays at Bama we don't lose 2 games.

With that said, I hope we get our young talented ILBs some playing time and not invest too heavily in the UGA transfer unless he's a game changer.

He was OLB at Bama. So he moved to ILB at Ark?

Yes, he played ILB at Arkansas. He would have also been moved to ILB (and almost certainly started) if he had stayed at Alabama. That had already been discussed with him prior to the transfer.

frick Drew Sanders. He declared for the draft before the plane landed after the Championship Game. I was in the stadium and you could tell he wasn’t giving his all when he got in because he was such a baby about getting passed up. He’s in the same boat as Billingsly for me.

I agree with the overall premise that investing too heavily in transfers has stunted the development of some of our younger guys.

Sanders is definitely a player we shouldn’t have let get away. Hopefully the new defensive staff does a better job of rotating players.

Our 2015 team had at least 18 guys who played significant snaps. Last year, I could barely name a player outside the starting 11.

It seems Saban feels the same way since we haven’t had many this offseason.
I think he, like most other coaches, was worried losing enough guys to impact our quality depth every year so he went all in on a process he has openly said he hates.

He’s a good player, but him rated as the #1 ILB is more of a testament to how weak the LB class is.

It’s basketball season bro, you worried about the if ands or buts of last year’s football season. Go back and put in your scouting research and see if he can beat Georgia twice too.
