They are decent to good run blockers. When it comes to passing, its all about the footwork. When you have guys their weight it's just about impossible to be blessed with quick feet. You can coach proper footwork but you can't make them quicker unless they lose weight!

They're better than they're getting credit for.

When you have no QB and no offensive identity, it's hard to come together as an offense.

Milroe had lots of clean pockets against Texas and just couldn't see the field.

The piss poor QB play is making them look worse than they are.

I dont know man, you can't see the field when you're running for your life 70% of every passing attempt by Milroe and Simpson

Yes you can. When a rusher is coming at you, you find your check down and dump it off. QBs stand in the pocket and take hits all the time. It's part of playing the position.

You also have to set protections and anticipate the blitz.

The problem is that when any of these guys have time to throw, they're not executing. They hang on to the ball and take another sack. This makes the OL look like shite because basically every pass play is a failure

This is because no one believes we have a passing game. The only position that can change this perception is the QB position.

No. No, they aren't. On one of Simpson's sacks, I think in the 3rd quarter, Proctor barely got a hand on the rusher as he went around him. No fancy technique by the rusher. Proctor was just too damn slow.

And we can all name at least seven centers since 2008 who all would keep McLaughlin hopelessly buried on the bench. I don't expect the second coming of Ryan Kelly. But can he not work to be at least as good as William Vlachos? Is that asking too much?

Quick edge rushers are just blowing by our tackles and NO ONE is picking them up. This happens over and over. The RBs have been inconsistent at best in picking up a blitz and usually either completely whiff and give it a half hearted block.

This has been a problem since we hired our OL coach. Defeats the purpose if you get great players but can't coach them up.

Their weights are monitored, dieticians have plans for each player, ...

Maybe we wanted them to beef up for the run game.

Alabama is 67th in yards per rush and has played against the 30th, 64th, and 92nd ranked rush defenses in yards per carry.

In the run game, maybe. They are garbage in pass protection and no amount of criticism on the QBs will change that.

as though you could tell if the QBs are any good when they have less than half a second on every play to throw the ball. Don't reply to that fricking guy, he's an alter
