Steve Sarkisian's career is a litany of failures

Starting in 2007 - Steve Sarkisian takes over as USC's offensive play caller because Lane Kiffin leaves for the NFL. USC's offense drops from 18th to 36th in the nation in points per game.

USC loses twice in '07:
1) Scoring only 23 points against a 4-8 Stanford team that was 66th in the country in opponent's points per game
2) Scoring only 17 points on Oregon, the fourth fewest the Ducks allowed that season

USC's only BCS title during the Pete Carroll "dynasty" was the only year Sark wasn't on the staff.

In 2009, Steve Sarkisian takes over the Washington job. He compiles a solid 34-29 record in five seasons as Washington coach. Since Sark's departure, Washington has improved dramatically with a 47-21 record. However, Sark deserves some credit for his time at Washington. He's better than Ty Willingham.

Sark takes over at USC in 2014. He gets one less win than KIffin and Coach O did the year prior. Then he embarrasses the University by going on a drunken rant, goes 1-2 in conference to start 2015, and gets fired. USC beats #3 Utah just 12 days after Sark's dismissal and goes on to win their division.

The year after USC wins the Rose Bowl. Sarkisian becomes OC at Bama for one game. He manages less than 2 points per drive in that game, decides to have a true freshman scrambling QB throw it 31 times, and has TWELVE drives that last 5 or less plays and end in a punt.

The Falcons are so impressed with this they hire Sark to be their OC. The Falcons drop from #1 to #15 in the NFL in offense.

This guy sucks. I've never seen someone fall on his feet like this guy. If the Communist Manifesto were written today, Karl Marx would use Sark as his primary argument for why capitalism is broken.

I might not agree with everything you wrote, but this was nicely done

After the offense regresses this coming season, I'm thinking Sarkisian replaces Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

Apple is already failing.

Say what you want about Sark, but he scored more than 16 points against a better Clemson defense while having an offense that was not as good as what we put on the field last year or what we will put on the field next year.

Despite having a True Freshman QB who couldn't really pass, he also put us in a position to win and we had the lead up until basically the last play of the game.

Meanwhile, the guy we just "lost" with his 2 "Co-OC" that was also just "lost" managed only 16 points with the best offense in recent history if not all our history and got shut the frick out the entire 2nd half - basically longer than that since we only scored a total of 3 points in the 2nd quarter.

So what the frick are you guys really bitching about?

If you can't see that Sark is a HUGE upgrade all because of 1 game where we didn't convert enough 3rd downs late in the game and gave up a 10 point lead then I don't know what to tell you.

Damn glad the man who's got a little bit of experience in football and not the bulk of the fan base is the one calling the shots, because you all are shitty at it.

Technically, you could have said the same about Kiffin. And he worked out okay.

16 points in 10 possessions (1.6 per possession) vs 31 in 16 possessions (1.93 per possession). Not that big of a difference especially when you consider that in 2017 the offense was gifted great field position by the defense at least twice, and that if the game had been close this year, we would've kicked field goals to score at least 25.

This is a joke right? Clemson was #1 in scoring defense this year. In 2016-17, Louisville, Pitt, Va Tech, FSU, hell even Troy put points on 'em.

Did you miss the part where I criticized his whole career?

didn't convert enough 3rd downs late in the game

The whole game, and it wasn't just third downs. We went three and out time after time. That was an atrocious offensive performance. This year the problem was third/fourth downs. The problem was moving the ball at all outside of a few big plays in 2017.

There it is. I bet you loved that fake field goal call too.

Saban is the GOAT. That doesn't make him infallible.

actually, you just cherrypicked stuff that fit your opinion. trying to claim it is his "whole career" is utter nonsense.

As a Falcons fan he is right though. Sark isn't a dream hire.

This is every job he's had since '07.

He did much better than Ty Willingham at UW and had some really good offenses as co OC over a decade ago. I don't see anything else that would make me excited for this hire.

Way to pick and choose stats that fit your narrative...im sure if someone who was pro sark could find stats that say he could be ideal for the job again.
He may however be a terrible hire...but looking at one side of things ain't the way to decide that.

Something to add to the hire is that Sark could very well be a one and done OC. We need to slow that down some.
