we went away from it in the second half and Blake didn’t have the precision to beat them.
I think the injuries to Landon Collins early in the game and Reggie Ragland late are ultimately what cost us that game.

We got really unlucky with injuries. Giving credit to where it is due though Cardale Jones was very physical and super fresh so it was kind of a perfect storm for us to get injured.

Maybe Ragland stops the long run by Elliot but I think large doses of Henry could have won it.

Amari Cooper might have had a tad to do with Blake being so successful. Dude was unguardable that year.

But the point I'm trying to make is that even though we didn't think Sims could do it he proved us wrong came out and had 3600 yards passing that 2014 season

If we had have given Henry at least 5 more touches in that game and the Oklahoma game the year previous then we probably win both of those games. His back to back Sugar Bowl performances have to be among the best 2 bowl game stretches of all time. 24 touches for 310 yards and 3 TDs. He was simply unstoppable.
If we would have beaten OSU, Henry probably would've bullied Oregon as well, because they were dogshit at trying to stop Elliot.

I’ve said it since that day. Large doses of Henry and we win. It was a bonehead game plan.

Only two times I have been to a “ big game loss” was to the OSU game in New Orleans and 2019 LSU . Really thought we had OSU until we didn’t
Not to say I have never seen Bama lose bc I have (been going since the late 70s) just not many big games when favored or stakes were high

Smith, Waddle and Metchie for Mac
Williams and Metchie for Bryce.
As great as Amari was, I would surmise Blake had the least amount of WR help of the QBs mentioned.

I'm really in favor of everyone saying we are going to be terrible because every single time they do we have a monster defense. Everyone is so worried about hoe a offense looks that they forget the old saying that defenses win championships. By the looks of our defense I'm gong to say we are doing just fine. On the back end we have Kool-Aide, Downs, Story, and Moore. We also got a great transfer from UAB in Key. Then we have a front seven that is a monster of a line. With Turner, Lawson, Braswell, Oatis, Latham, and Eboigbe. All of these guys have put in the work this defense under Kevin Steel is going to be a monster. One we haven't seen in a while.

I would agree that in the beginning of the Saban era defense won championships but starting with our 1st go with Clemson in the national championship defenses no longer were the reason teams were winning it all. We outscored Clemson and many of the national championship games since that time were won by teams that had incredible offenses. Clemson in 18, LSU in 19, Bama in 20, Georgia last year. Heck, Bama had to score 45 in 2015 to beat Clemson and they had to score 35 in 2016 to beat us.
