I mean we've all been on spring break before and seen people fighting. This is more than likely a wrong place, wrong time situation for Thompson. We've just got to wait until all the facts come out.

Didn't pass judgement. I said b]IF[/b]. There is never an excuse for multiple people to jump on someone especially a 200LB CFB player.

Isn't the Vol for Life thing UT does with Butch the same hand sign as the shocker?

The offensive line from left to right included Jonah Williams, Ross Pierschbacher, Bradley Bozeman, Deonte Brown and Lester Cotton. Last scrimmage the right side consisted of Cotton at right guard and Matt Womack at right tackle.

Linebackers

With the inside linebackers during drills were Rashaan Evans, Keith Holcombe, Joshua McMillon, Shawn Jennings and Dylan Moses.

Tight ends

Hale Hentges led the drills for the tight ends followed by Miller Forristall, Irv Smith, Ronnie Clark and Cam Stewart.

Miscellaneous

Deionte Thompson was not at the scrimmage today. Nick Saban released the following statement following the warrant issued for Thompson’s arrest:

“We are still in the process of gathering all of the facts in Deionte’s situation. He has been excused today to cooperate with law enforcement in this matter. Once we have a better understanding of what happened, we will make a determination as to what needs to be done in terms of the appropriate course of action moving forward.”

Pretty quiet from the places I usually read. Nothing but Jalen and Tua playing well again and Jacobs had a couple nice runs, one for a TD.

this is the best indicator of what happened inside the stadium Friday afternoon. The rundown:

Good: The second team made a significant amount of improvement. They "competed a lot better against the first rep chart, which was encouraging in a lot of ways," Saban said. It is a good sign for depth overall, Saban added.

Bad: Tackling wasn't as good this week as it was last Saturday. Missed tackles were suddenly an issue. "Since we're playing against ourselves, maybe the offense was a little better at running after the catch or breaking some tackles on some runs, but I didn't think the tackling was quite as crisp as it was a week ago." That goes back to practice since they don't tackle to the ground in regular practices.

Good: The balance on offense. There were a few explosive plays in the passing game. The running game also took a step forward with big plays "where there was an absence of a week ago."

Bad: The secondary didn't get a positive review for a second straight week. "I thought we missed some 50-50 balls we should have made plays on and they turned out to be not great big plays," Saban said. Whether it's technique or players getting cut off, that can't happen moving forward.

Good: The "juice" on defense even if tackling wasn't as sharp.

Good: Special teams. The punter and kickers "were pretty good." There was a blocked field goal "which was a really good effort by the defense.

-- Saban said he wasn't happy with the play of the defensive backs today. Mentioned the inability to make plays on 50-50 balls.

-- Saban said he feels like JUCO defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs has gotten better every day.

highlight video from scrimmage
twitter video

Some things I noticed-
Jeudy with a nice grab
TJ Simmons put Rashaan Evans on skates
Buggs looked stout finishing on a tackle
Keaton Anderson with a nice hit and PBU
Dylan Moses with a nice tackle on Brian
Rob Foster shrugs off Diggs for a big play

I heard Buggs had zero scholarship offers coming out of high school, interesting. I like stories like this. Hope he does well and goes to the NFL. Also heard jet sweeps are being replaced with passes to TE's. This may have been posted if so sorry. Thought it was interesting.

The thought of Dylan Moses stalking RB's and QB's on Saturday afternoons makes my dick hard. I'm not gonna lie.

Bamarep has some bro-love for that young man. He is gonna be a beast.

Less cerebral but more physically imposing version of Mosley.

We worked a lot more on the running game and Cotton played at RT. Jacobs with a couple of long runs and Najee continued to show why he was the overall #1 prospect on scout.

Secondary having a tough time with our receivers. Tony Brown has become a vocal leader on defense. The young guys still struggle with missed assignments.

Linebackers looking elite. Saban was really pleased with the second team guys in the front seven. Moses is earning a significant role.

I was told that the 3 most imposing freshmen early enrollees are Najee, Robinson and of course Moses.

Saban said Buggs was improving every day but he needs to play his assignment. He is still trying to make the play himself rather than doing his job. Said he needs to make the play while in proper position.

A recruit that was visiting Friday said that Robinson and Buggs are the two that stood out in the scrimmage to him.
