Boz indicated he would be posting this morning, and that he has some insights... not sure if he was merely referring to the Kaho thing... but sure we will have some "illusions" to what the issues could be soon.
The "or if he will ever be" comment seems ominous.

I hope Boz can shed some light on how Markhail Benton is doing. He was the #7-ranked OLB and #100-ranked overall player in the Class of 2017. A great opportunity for him to step up is staring him in the face -- right now.

Saban (Aug 25, 2018) -- “We have to develop the players that we have... We need Markhail Benton to mature and develop and not be one of those guys that's always looking for an easy way..."

Eta: At least he's not addicted to Twitter.

in the videos of the LB's in drills...one he is like 3-5 and in another he is dead last after the WO's... But, he evidently is still looking for the easy way

This spring drills should prove whether Benton is the real deal or another recruiting evaluation mistake at ILB.

He ain't young no more.

LINK ]Source: Ale Kaho expected to return for Alabama's next practice (BamaInsider)

quote:

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Rising sophomore linebacker Ale Kaho is expected to return to Alabama for its next practice after missing the Crimson Tide’s opening workout of spring practice Friday, a source close to the situation told BamaInsider.com.

Kaho served on each of Alabama’s special teams units last season, tallying a team-high seven tackles on the kickoff coverage. He is thought to be a leading candidate for the starting inside linebacker position alongside Dylan Moses. After practice Friday, Alabama coach Nick Saban provided a vague response when asked about Kaho’s absence.

“He’s got some issues that he’s dealing with," Saban said. "We’re trying to be supportive of him every way that we can. I think that we’ll just continue to try to help him every way that we can. I don’t know if at some point in time he’ll be ready to come back and play football or not.”

Alabama players will have the week off for Spring Break before returning to the practice field on March 18.

Maybe Saban's vague remarks about Kaho were an indirect message to him -- as if to say we're trying to be supportive concerning your family issues, but is it really necessary to miss the 1st day of spring practice to add some extra time to your spring break visit back home? Perhaps we shouldn't count on you at this juncture...

Maybe Boz is hunkering down. I'm in Bham and it feels like we are going to get hammered by storms. It feels scary out there.

Just popped on to read the Boz Report... hummmmm

Thanks for the Kaho update Surge.

Not sure what the weather is doing over there Cobra.... but be watchful, hope you are not in the tornado alley that comes thru Bessemer and heads thru North Bham as it goes to NE Bama to leave its path of destruction.

Heck I got my roof reworked once and I was in Hoover. Im in NE Atlanta now and we really dont see any tornado damage around us.

Be safe, Be watchful check in when there is bad weather nearby (at least once it's safe)

Yea, I'm waiting on Boz too.

I'm in Center Point. It's North East of Birmingham. We had a serious tornado come through 5 or 6 years ago. Hopefully it won't be bad tonight. I'll keep everyone updated. It's hot and extremely muggy right now. That's not good

Notice another PK/P on the Roster.
93 David "Tripp" Slyman Position PK
Height 6-1 Weight 180 Class Sophomore
Hometown: Huntsville, Al High School: Randolph
Chris Sailer Kicking review
quote:

Player Review Tripp is a very good high school punter with great college potential. A great looking athlete with an ideal frame for a college punter. He has a live leg and shows he can hit a big ball at times. A bit raw, but there is excellent upside here. He has already shown solid improvement in the short amount of time we have worked with him. As he continues to work on his technique and consistency, he will shoot even further up the rankings. I look forward to seeing his development over the next few months. A fine young man that is a pleasure to work with. Look for Tripp to dominate Vegas XXXI and turn the heads of college coaches. Nice prospect.
HUDL

I know another walk on kicker/punter... and since he joined last summer and no one has really heard of him.. what the hey.. but, Bama is so bad at recruiting kickers... maybe this will be one that works... but probably not, huh?
