I think they hire from within, so that will mitigate alot of the damage.

Michigan taking a proven head coach from another P5 school would also add to the chaos.

Harbaugh was Michigan Football. Nobody in that group wants to go back to getting beat by OhioSt every year. They will try to hire a guy that has experience as a HC.

Unless they hire the OC or DC to try and keep the team together.

If osu can promote Day then Michigsn can do the same. Bama is the only program that is allergic to internal hires.

What kind of plan were you expecting there to be? Greg Byrne went out and hired one of the best available coaches on the market in less than 48 hours from Saban's retirement announcement
Doing literally everything humanly possible to keep this roster as intact as possible should have been job #1, 1b at worst.

Imo, y’all are WOEFULLY underestimating how important it was to keep this roster intact.

This roster, after Saban retired, was the single greatest asset to the university’s athletic department. You don’t think you could come up with a better exit strategy than what Saban and Alabama did?

Before telling ANYONE, Saban should have called a meeting with Byrne and ~30 core players on the team, including 2024 recruits, and told them I am retiring and we have a plan in place for y’all to be compensated for leading this program and your teammates into this new era. Do some rah-rah shite and let them know you will be here every step of the way.

The most valuable asset in the sport was our goddamn roster. It was not treated like the most important asset in the sport.
